Title: New Toy!
Post by: Timothy on June 10, 2010, 07:00:44 PM
Got my new laptop today, sorry all you Mac lovers, had to go cheepo with a new Dell runing Windows 7.  Under 500 bucks.

For what I use it for, I wasn't gonna drop a grand on a new system.

So far, I don't hate it yet, give me time!

;D

Upgraded to Win 7, three weeks ago for my laptop, (after it crashed), It seems an improved version of how Vista was supposed to be.

Other than that, Bill Gates is still the devil, and Win 7 will be obsolete by 2012. :P

I've been running Win 7 since October last year and (knock wood) it has been OK.

Obviously this guy didn't bring enough gun.   How many shots did it take?   I think a 12ga with #4 might have been more effective.

Ok, it's been a few weeks now with Windows 7...

It's only locked up my laptop about a hundred times over 18 days so that's a marked improvement over Windows XP...

Should have bought the f..k.i.n.g MAC...

There are booby sites?

 ;D

Funny but that's not the case.  I actually think my router has aged and needs replacement.  Gonna pick another up and give that a try next week.  The laptop is bottom of the line Dell.  Nothing fancy for home use.  I'm also using Firefox and I don't think Explorer 8 likes it one bit... :(

God, I hate computers....after 33 years, I've had enough.......you'd think that sitting in front of one 50 hours a week for work I'd come home and NOT sit down and use one but here I sit.....

Also....don't be naive and think the ONLY place you can download a virus is from porn sites.  Virus' can come from anywhere, anytime.  I'm convinced they are written by the same people that sell virus protection software!  But then I'm a die-hard cynic...

If the really bright kids that write virus code really wanted to go nuts, they could shut the world down with the few keystrokes.

And I know you do this stuff for a living...

Imagine where you'll be in 33 years!  Where will the technology take you in your lifetime?  We didn't even have a TV in my house until the early sixties, now you can watch movies on a telephone!

My Apple IIe was state of the art back in '83.....64kb of ramm!

Heck, I graduated from high school using a slide rule!
