Title: Does anyone have any info or experience with the EAA "Windicator" revolvers?
Post by: bafsu92 on June 13, 2010, 12:06:48 PM
I've got a friend of a friend who is wanting to sell a 2" .357 Windicator for $225 in new/unfired condition. http://www.eaacorp.com/handguns-witness-revolvers-windicator-description.html (http://www.eaacorp.com/handguns-witness-revolvers-windicator-description.html)
It seems to be built pretty solid and the fit and finish seems pretty decent. I don't know much about them other than they're made in Germany and the company has been making them 20+ years. Other than that and the fact they have a stupid name I couldn't really find anything else as far as someone who's actully owned one. If anyone has any first hand info I'd appreciate it. I'm not looking at it for a primary defense/carry gun but more as a back up bug out bag type of thing. I know they also make a 4" which I'd rather have for a bug out bag but it is what it is.

Sorry I can't help you with any info about the gun, but I can give a bit of info about the name...which you don't care about anyway.

For some reason lost in the fog of history, Germans switch the pronunciation of "W" and "V" as compared to English.

So, the name of the revolver would be pronounced  Vindicator in Germany.

They also drink their beer warm.

There is just no explanation for some things.

Thanks,  ;D. I've got some Germans on one side of my family so I was familiar with the whole "W" for "V" thing. I guess if you're going to name you're gun that at least you think you built it well... At first glance it seems like an attempt at a K frame copy and I know there are a lot of surplus K frames floating around that were German and Austrian police issue so they had plenty of examples over there to copy. Honestly just holding it and dry firing it I'd compare it to at least the quality of a Taurus or Rossi revolver, maybe with a slightly better trigger.

I used to have one. Not a bad pistol, a bit heavy but all in all a very serviceble firearm. I used it as a truck gun untill it grew legs and walked off. I guess it found a prettier truck.

Thanks for the info CJS3. It definitely feels solid and the price is hard to pass up.
