Havent seen the film, but Ive heard it is not terribly true to the book.
Bob Lee Swagger isnt from Blue Eye
He's a young man, rather than a Viet Nam vet.
And I don't even think they call him Bob Lee
I also suspect that as is the case with other recent hollywood epics, conservatives are the main villains of the piece.

From the website that Marshall pointed us to, the story sounds similar to the synopses I have read - I have not read the book as yet.
In addition to the world-famous ( :-\ ) white hip-hop boy, Markie-Mark, this movie also contains the notable rights-respecting All-American - Danny Glover - as the Colonel.
Yeah, this will be every gun-loving American's dream movie.

Haven't read Point of Impact, but, saw Shooter this past weekend and enjoyed it. Don't know the politcal leanings of the actors - just enjoyed the movie. Levon Helm has a single scene bit part and he was GREAT!!
