Know anyone with a piano company or who moves pianos and organs? They've got these great little strap-on dollies that you can move anything with.
Mmmmmm.... strap on dollies.... I'll be back in a few minutes.

A great big bloody safe or you gave my mother inlaw a ride home!

already have a great big bloody safe.  it was the og safe from the river city bank from the 1880s.  as to the mother inlaw, she is tiny.  about 115 and 5' 4''

it will live in the garage and i need to get a phase converter.

Does og mean refrigerated? And how many bottles of beer will it hold?

Phil...where do you get something like that "beer Keeper"?  do they make a shorter, wider one with double doors?

You bought some machining equipment....maybe a turning lathe or a bed mill?  Gonna start building something?

A Bridgeport or Proto-Trac?

Just a few WAGS...

Most milling machines are 3 phase as is mine, I'm going with Tim on this one.

i don't think i have ever seen a 3p welder

its bridgeport knee mill, got a bunch of tooling to go with.  its about 30 years old, and was used very little.  got a very nice rotating table and a 5 axis table.

made the platt run today and have every thing fro running a new circit, just have to get around to doing it.

mY TES  is under control for a bit now.

How many guesses do we have to make before you tell us what it is that you bought???????

P.S. I'll go with a piece of machining equipment like a CNC machine for building your own AR receivers????

Ok...let me see...my guess is a bridgeport knee mill with rotating table and a 5 axis table.

I would say similar to this.

Tim, I hate Proto Trac.  ;D
I can do my own programing with G codes, but I just can't get the hang of that conversational programming. (granted I have far less opportunity to work with it )

TAB, lets have details !
Is it strictly manual ? Or does it have the servo's etc for auto feed ?  DRO ?
Rotary table ?  I run a Bridgeport every night and I don't get to have a rotary table.
Don't need it for the parts I run, but still ....    ;D  I do however have an auto indexing  ( Haas )  head on it so  PHHHT on you  ;D

GunsRUs, check this out.  ;D

I have over 15 years on knee mills of verious orgin, everything from and Enco Belt drive to a Bridgeport EZ Vision (3 axis CNC with an R8 collet).  Enco's are fine, and the variable speed is a huge plus.  Just know you lose some power with a phase converter, about 30% IIRC, but I've rarely needed all the power available in 15 years.

My current mill is a Bridgeport EZ Track 2 axis, probably the best balance of quick set-up and capabiltiy.  But its at work, I'd love to have your mill in my garage!

One day...

Have a good one.

His hammers , OK, no prob.
His wife, maybe.
Look at the table saw wrong and he'll kill you.
A man has got to have his priorities.    ;D

Best thing about manual is that if you start getting in to trouble you can just stop cranking  ;D

All that effort for brackets? WTF???   ;D

OTOH, I have no clue how to operate these, or even what they're used for, so have fun.

Path, (and you others not familiar with machining, )
Here's a video of a CNC Milling machine in action, what TAB got does the same things but uses hand cranks for controll instead of a computer.

Here's one that is just cool to watch, Tim, could you program that ?  ;D

Nice mill, TAB.

I've run older Bridgeports off and on since high school. Would love to have a mill and a lathe in my shop.
I missed a golden chance 15 years ago when the company I worked for sold off all their older machines for scrap price to make room for CNC machines. One of my neighbors (who was a co-worker) bought several for his shop and after retiring, opened a gunsmith shop about a mile down the road.

Nope!  And it doesn't appear that I'll be learning the format anytime soon either.  That's another reason I'm job searching!  They hired another college boy to work with our lone machinist and program the more complex stuff for the HAAS and the Proto-Trac.

We don't make anything that would require the multi-axis table and 5 axis cutting heads anyway.

Our machinist primarily uses the HAAS and a vintage Bridgeport knee mill like TAB bought.  He sets the Prot Trac for stuff he can fixture and walk away.

Yea I've seen that before, but I don't know much about Machining. So it doesn't do me much good. :(  But if you want to teach me Tom I'm willing to learn! I'd love to build my own AR's!! ;D ;D
