I agree with this part:

From the comments on the article:

"I mean, if I can’t be prosecuted for falsely claiming to have qualified for and having been awarded a military distinction, how can I be prosecuted for claiming to have qualified for and having been awarded a medical degree?"

The difference is (IMO) whether you use the false credentials for financial gain--fraud vs. fish stories/bar talk.

Any one who excuses this behavior is no better than a Flag burner.
When I run into them I humiliate and insult them, liars have no  1A rights.
(Don't really care what the law says.)

Agreed, but if we say their speech is isn't protected--who is going to protect ours?

Libel, and slander are specifically excluded from legal protection, and Perjury is a criminal offense.
Defending these cowards is exactly the same as defending flag burning as  "Freedom of expression".
Wake up and read the documents, our Constitution says Free SPEECH, and Free PRESS.
If you want "Freedom of expression check out the UN "Human Rights".

Liars don't have 1A rights .

So how does this effect BHo's claim to be President?? Isn't he lying for financial gain & therefore prosecutable for treason as well as Stolen Valor. Even if he is found to be a legitimate President (unlikely) he is still a treasonous basta__!!!

To bad the SC doesn't have any other important isues to rule on.

I sure hope you are talking about flag burners  >:(  I'm not saying I approve of burning the flag.  In fact I believe that the flag should be protected!  But if you are talking about protecting deliberate lies under the First Amendment you are talking about throwing out our entire judicial system, because that ruling would begin the downward spiral to protecting perjury under the First Amendment  >:(
