Title: deepwater & me x2, More Range Pics.
Post by: twyacht on July 23, 2010, 05:07:41 PM
Had a great couple of days with deepwater while here in FL. My gun club is closed Mon. & Tues. so Monday took my son and deepwater to see Predators at the movies.

Lots of guns in that movie. ;D

Tues. had to resort to the Broward County Park Range, which is, like any other gov't run entity, not without its frustrations. But hell, it was range time.

deepwater, pulled up in the Hazmobile, an otherwise innocent looking urban assault vehicle, but it was full o' goodies. ::)

Too many guns to shoot,  ???, but the range has "rules". So we had to ration them out. deepwaters FAL,.... yes it is a bad ass rifle. I will have one also.

I forgot my spotting scope, (sorry deepwater), but the rifle grouped EVERY round regardless of shooter, at 7-8 o'clock. A sight adjustment will make it spot on.

Than there was the Moisin Nagant. A literal cannon, bolt was stiff, but the damn thing will never break.

The Ishipore is great, a really nice package, combat accurate, thumping round, and easy sight picture.

Full moon at the range,...er,....uh,....just deepwater, "in the zone".... 8)

AND yes, that Grandpa to the Glock, the ugly of the ugly, the Tok.

My son loved it, it just simply works, shoots a hell of a round, and is one that pound for pound, with ammo really cheap, is a great deal.

The Three Amigos,..... had a great time.  Always great when deepwater comes to town.

They let you guys leave the house!!   :o  Uncaged and RAW!!

Looks like you had a great time.  I would suggest that you sight in the FAL while NOT on a bench.  They do have a finicky barrel profile and resting it on the bag like that will have and effect.

Some Guinness Dark Ale, with a CO2 contraption in the bottle.....Me? I enjoyed a Pilsner Urquell. The lad enjoyed a full powerhouse Root Beer.

Still thinking of a plan/scheme to have a DRTV Forum rendezvous some day.

One perspective is, in a TEOTWAWKI, SHTF, situation, we will be rendezvouing anyway. Somewhere in what's left of Free America.

If you made it Texas or Fl it would be local for about 1/3 of us.   ;D
But Howard has the advantage of lots of tent space.
Woodstock for guns  ;D
3 day orgy of guns, gun talk, shooting, and BSing while the air reaks of Hoppe's #9 and CLP   ;D

For a DRTV get together there are 3 places that would meet all our needs,(Being able to bring any kind of gun with us and being able to carry a handgun) Alaska, Arizona or Vermont. Those are the only states I know of that uphold your 2nd Amendment rights. There are some others that will recognize out of state CCW permits, But those 3 would be on the top of my list. Now lets figure out the logistics of doing this sometime within the next year or so.

What say you?

It sounds great, however, a central location, would be logical. Texas,... Florida, (in winter),...m25, has ranges out to 1000 yds. in his neighborhood... Enough to cover the "sure shots",... ;) Right place in Fl. could work. Party at Hazcats?

Still, it has been kicked around for a while and IMHO, it would be amazing to get grills, guns, and DRTV folks in one place. Preferably Private property. I can offer Carrigan Farms, in NC.

I offer my assistance in any way I can.

It would even make Tea Party rallies look boring, especially if MB wears that flaming skull shirt. I offer a Spring or Fall event as it's just too damn hot any other time.

Pre POTUS election in 2012?

We could even scare the straights in the MSM... ;D

It is a N2 (Nitrogen) contraption.  The N2 is what gives Guinness it's thick creamy head.  When served from a tap you have to use a custom blend of CO2 and N2 in your canister.  Refill stations usually know the mix ratio, but if they don't let Guinness know and they will be glad to instruct them.

I've never liked a tall foamy head on my beer, and will pour very carefully to avoid any head at all on a normal beer.

With a Guinness in a can or bottle, go ahead and spin it or shake it or drop it on the table, rattle it around.

Then open in and pour it straight down into the upright glass and you will still only get a small creamy head.

Sipping this is like desert with your beer.

 :D :D :D  Let the Double Entendre Fest begin  ;D ;D ;D

I've been drinking Stout since I was a "wee lad" and I don't care for the draught bottle version.  It changes the taste and feel of the beer.

I'll take mine by the pint, the only way to serve Guinness..  Pour it from the bottle, the correct way, and it's the nectar of the Gods...

I remember a time, about 25 years back, just got married, newborn baby in her basinette.  No car, no money, nothing but my two feet and a friend down the street who could drive me to work.

Had to walk about two miles up the street to the nearest packy to buy a 6 pack of Carlings Black Label for about $1.70 with deposit and head for home.

The only thing left was the empty cans by the time I got back to my apartment.  Sweated it all out on the way....

Thankfully, my buddies refer was well stocked with St Paulie Girl and Stoli.....

 ;D ;D
