Title: What do you think about handguns being prohibited by law?
Post by: polherry on July 24, 2010, 03:51:41 AM
Any law banning ANY firearm or things used in association with them is technically breaking the Supreme Law of the Land...The United States Constitution. I think any person who is trying to take any right guaranteed to American citizens in the US Constitution should be charged with treason.

My interpetation of the Constitution is such that outlawing of gun possesion, carrying, and appropriate use thereof should not be infringed (restricted). I agree with licensing on class 3 weapons but I think suppressors should not be included. I have a CCW but I think the Vermont model is better (anybody can carry as long as they are a US CITIZEN)

I think it would work about as well nationally as it has in DC, NYC, and Chi-town.....  ;)

I think it would be a waste of time and paper, since criminals and people like me will ignore it.

The 2A should be the only CCW we need. Shouldn't even have to get a permit, just show that we are of age and pass a NIC check.

My understanding is that the state of Vermont does not have state preemption. This allows local cities to make their own firearm related laws. I would much prefer an Alaska model with state preemption and a ccw with reciprocity for out of state carry.

Disagree on the businesses.  Private property (like a home) yes, BUT if you do business with the public then the law is the law UNLESS you want to guarantee my safety.

even the police don't have to protect you, and they can disarm you at will( not always legally, but right then and there, yes)
you have a choice to enter or not.
