That a 2 or 3 AM, when I should be going to bed, I'm always wide awake, either browsing this forum, or listening to music on youtube, or both? ???

You have no life ?

Sometimes, as a light sleeper, I'll be up at 3AM, or so, and just bounce around on the forum as a guest, check Drudge, take a leak, and try to go back to sleep.
It works, or it doesn't, than I turn on CNN, and fall asleep in 5 minutes,.... ::)
I wake up early anyway, haven't needed an alarm clock for decades.
I like seeing the sunrise.

I hit the forum late night sometimes....I worked graveyard for nearly 20 years (loved it too) and have always been sort of a night-owl. For me it is usually pain-related insomnia or restlessness that keeps me up until 3 or 4 in the AM some nights.

If you have trouble falling asleep, look into Melatonin.
It is a natural hormone in humans and aids in falling asleep.
The levels of the hormone fall off as you age and at 40, you body produces half as much as at 18.
The unofficial dosage for a sleep aid is 3mg. I find 1mg is great for me.
I take one a half hour before I want to sleep and read for a bit. In about 30 minutes, I really feel like I need to get to sleep.
If I wake in the middle of the night, I'll take another. They do make a time release tablet, if that is a common occurrence.
I wake with absolutely no drugged feeling as I would get with the usual sleep aid like sominex, or whatever is sold these days.
It's worth a try.

Thanks.
I have an abundant supply of OTC and prescription (Lunesta, Ambien, etc) sleeping pills, but shy away from taking them due to the "hit by a bus" feeling the next day. Plus I don't want to become dependent on them.

I work a lot of long strange hours. There are times when 3:00 or 4:00 a.m. is the same as others 6:00 p.m. I can't get some people to understand that. Especially relatives and supervisors that call at 7:30 a.m. when I got home from work at o'late thirty. If they haven't worked those kind of hours it seems they can't comprehend it. I pay them back though. I just call them back in the middle of their night.

NP..hope it works for you.
It is also supposed to help recover from Jet Lag, but I've never had the need to try it. IIRC, the procedure varied depending upon which direction you travel. So, if you have the need, you might want to check on that also.
