Barge Hits Abandoned Oil Well Off Louisiana Coast

HARAHAN, La.—An abandoned oil well was shooting a 100-foot plume of oil and gas into waters off the southeastern coast of Louisiana on Tuesday after it was hit by a tugboat pushing a barge.

Though the accident was unconnected to the Deepwater Horizon spill, it threatened to pollute Barataria Bay, one of the areas hardest hit by the crude that gushed from BP PLC's broken oil well.

A tugboat called Pere Ana C was pushing a dredge barge when it struck the wellhead at about 1 a.m. Tuesday in about 20 feet of water about 65 miles south of New Orleans, according to officials from the Coast Guard and Jefferson Parish.

The well was sending a mixture of natural gas, contaminated water and crude into the air, leaving a light sheen on the water's surface. The Coast Guard dispatched a crew from a well-control company to plug the well, which should happen in the next day or so.

They never have Tug Boat accidents in ANWAR, no hurricanes either the last time I checked.

And another in Michigan.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – Crews were working Tuesday to contain and clean up more than 800,000 gallons of oil that poured into a creek and flowed into the Kalamazoo River in southern Michigan, coating birds and fish.

Authorities in Battle Creek and Emmett Township warned residents about the strong odor from the oil, which leaked Monday from a 30-inch pipeline built in 1969 that carries about 8 million gallons of oil per day from Griffith, Ind., to Sarnia, Ontario.

Crews waded in oily water as they worked to stop the oil's advance downstream. Oil-covered Canada geese walked along the banks of the Kalamazoo River, and photos showed dead fish floating in the spill. The Kalamazoo River eventually flows into Lake Michigan, but officials didn't expect the oil to reach the lake.

I blame Bush

Legitimate to blame Bush and I'm surprised the Lame Stream Media hasn't pickup on this.   After all, Bush was in Kalamazoo once.  AND crude oil is rather dark in color, so it's got to be racist, too.

Why am I the only one who sees this?

Offered by a curious Crusader ::)

Not at all Crusader. I have been researching him to great extent, and found out something I pray the liberal, left wing media does not pick up on. George W. Bush was born on July 6, 1946.

It just so happens the worst industrial accident in this nations history occurred in Texas City, Texas on April 16, 1947.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_City_Disaster

Exactly 81 days after he was born. Records show he was born in New Haven, Connecticut. Very conveniently located well over 1,000 miles from the disaster he planned, and had executed.

This was done no doubt to lower land values in the state of Texas, which in turn allowed him to purchase vast quantities of it at rock bottom prices with the wealth he accumulated at a very early age. Some say he was only 3 days old when he purchased his first section, (360 acres), with laundered money from an illegal business he purchased just 1 day before. However details of this purchase are sketchy because the county recorder who filed the purchase isn't talking. No doubt he was financially corrupted by the Bush family years earlier by his father. Either way the evidence points to Bush all day long. No doubt any and all of his vast criminal experience aided him in planning and executing the 9/11 disaster. And we sit here and do nothing.  Bill T.
