I seen over on the gunblast.com site on brother Jeff Quinn's coverage of the Shot SHow mention being made that the 20 round Mini 14 mags are going to be made available to everybody. This true, Mike?

May not be direct from Ruger but Brownells and Midway USA has had 20 rd Mini-14 mags for years from Pro-Mag (who probably makes them for Ruger anyway).

I sincerely doubt it, as the Pro-Mag Mini 14 mags I have had in the past are garbage!

The overpriced NRA edition mini comes with 20 rounders.
jnevis,
My experience with anything Promag is they are junk.

Cheaper Than Dirt has been advertising Ruger factory 20-round mags for the Mini-14 for some time. They're $50 which is why I don't have too many.

Pathfinder,
All current 20 round Ruger mags were diverted from law enforcement distrubutors. Tha't why they are so high. Ruger hasn't seen fit to crank up production and sell them to the general public until now. Remember Old Man Ruger's support for the 10 round mag limit, don'tcha?

I did not know any of that - ex-wife wouldn't allow any guns and I lived close to Chicago - I'm fairly late to the game and have missed a lot of the history. Thanks for the knowledge.
PS: I just bought my first big safe cuz I outgrew the two smaller ones I had, so I am making up for lost time. Let's see, a 1911 will go there, the 6.8 AR I'm building will go there, and where in the heck will I put the Masada????? Oh yeah, next to the Sig 556 . . . .
