Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D.-Nev.) cited what he described as Elena Kagans defense of the Second Amendment last week as he explained his vote to confirm her to the Supreme Court.
The roots of General Kagan's respect for the rule of law are in her respect for our separation of powers, Reid said in an Aug. 5 speech on the Senate floor. It is a reverence she developed during her service in all three branches of government, defending the First and Second Amendments, strengthening our national security, and protecting children's safety.

Elena Kagan was the 45th Solicitor General of the United States.
Harry is still a waste of carbon atoms.

Gee, Lindsy Grahamnesty ("R?"-SC) voted for her also....along with 3 or 4 more RINO bastards.

It is critical to the defense of the Second Amendment that we have pro-gun majorities in the U.S. Congress. While no endorsement has yet been issued in this race, nor any other U.S. Senate race for the November general election, rest assured that we will make all of these announcements at the appropriate time and in light of our election policy.
I'm not saying they will or won't, just sayin'....If they do, than I will consider it a BIG problem regarding my "membership".

What this boils down to is this. They will keep their heads down until the political landscape becomes clearer. If it looks like Reid will lose, they'll declare themselves neutral. If there is a reasonable chance he'll win, they'll endorse him, as they (and I), don't want to alienate a reliable pro-gun vote in the majority leader position. Remember, if the GOP doesn't take the Senate, doubtful, but possible, we're stuck with Schumer as his replacement. The NRA is pulling a Janich. Good for them.

Pull the post out of your ass FQ, and think about what you just said. Are you really supporting the NRA for sitting on the fence?

Four words. Majority Leader Chuck Schumer. Discuss amongst yourselves. Because that's what will happen if Reid loses and the GOP doesn't retake the Senate. Do you really want the Schumer-Pelosi Omnibus Gun Control Act of 2011? I don't know what it will look like, I'll have to vote for it before I read it. Hell Yeah I want the NRA on the fence (or, rather, occupying a piece of tactical real estate on the high ground and providing optimal room for maneuver). ;D

Much as it pains me to say it, I agree with FQ, at least on pragmatic political grounds. Would I like to see the NRA drop Reid like a used condom? Absolutely. But we gotta take a rational look at the bigger picture, and not succumb to our emotions.
I think I just threw up a little in my mouth as I said that.

While I can see why you have that opinion, I still don't understand why the NRA would even consider supporting someone like Reid. Yes, has voted our way when it comes to the straight issue of gun control. BUT he supports end runs around our Constitution such as the U.N. Treaty that would effectively ban guns for all of us. I see him as someone who only stands for gun rights when he can't hide his vote.
No, I don't want Schumer, but then again, I didn't want BHO either. While I have forgiven you for that, I haven't yet forgotten. ;D

The scary part of FQ's scenario is that if he's right we get both Schumer AND Barry!!

Just promise me I don't have to see Pelosi anymore. :-X

IF we ended up with Schumer he couldn't do a lot of damage in light of the court rulings and it WOULD be the final nail so to speak and ensure a complete ousting of libs in 2012.

Here's why Schumer is Reid's heir apparent. He was head of the Dem senatorial election committee in '06 and '08, yers in which the Dems gained seats. They might not like him (few do), but they owe him. Plus he's from NY, has a afe seat, lots of money and is well known (not liked, but known). Think of him as the Dems Trent Lott.

Don't forget John Kerry, (he's a Vietnam Vet ya' know), who got shafted for POTUS already. The in-fighting would be great to watch, but both him and Chucky equally are bad news.
Pelosi, is going down,....as Speaker, God Help Us All, if she stays.
