TAMPA — A Walgreens customer attacked a would-be robber with his cane Wednesday morning, chasing the man out of the store before he could get any money, Tampa police say.

At 6:48 a.m., a man entered the Walgreens at 2115 E Hillsborough Ave. and motioned for a customer to be quiet. The man had a brown paper bag over his right hand, and he pointed it at a clerk, demanding money, police say.

That's when customer Clifford Leo Bisek, 69, of Tampa attacked the man with his cane and chased him out of the store. Police say the would-be robber ran south toward 22nd Street North.

Tampa police released video and asked the public for help in tracking down the suspect. They describe him as a white or Hispanic man, between 18 and 25 years old, about 5-foot-8 and about 150 pounds.

He was last seen wearing blue jeans, dark shoes and a baby blue sleeveless, hooded jacket with a white T-shirt underneath. The jacket had "971" embroidered on the back and a black, vertical stripe on the right side with "WMA" written with white material.

Did he twirl it around and tuck it under his arm afterwards? "My cane-foo was better than his Grasshopper'. ;D
FQ13 who is increasingly thinking about a brass handled "walking stick".

Looked like he was trying to knight them more than show them the arts.

The real lesson here is Don't Mess With an Old Fart.

We've been there.  We've done that.  And we WILL kick your azz (or shoot it).

Offered only as an observation of truth by Crusader, a certified Old Fart.  ;D ;) ;D ;)

CR, your comment brings to mind a couple of old addages:

Youth and strength are never a match for experience and dirty fighting.

Don't mess with an old man.  He's too tired to fight, and will just shoot you.
