Gunman dies after firing at suburban Dallas police station

McKINNEY, Texas – A man drove a pickup truck loaded with ammunition into a suburban Dallas police station's parking lot on Tuesday, set the truck on fire and exchanged gunfire with police, officials said. The gunman was the only casualty and died at the scene.
McKinney Deputy Police Chief Scott Brewer said the man was shouting as the truck became engulfed in flames and the ammunition inside began exploding. The still-unidentified gunman then began shooting toward the police station and there was a "brief exchange of gunfire," Brewer said.
It wasn't immediately clear how the gunman died. Really???
Brewer said police had no idea why the attack occurred or whether the man planned the attack alone.
"We believe there is just one shooter at this point in time," Brewer told reporters at McKinney City Hall. The police station sits amid a large cornfield near Collin College.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and predict that the coroner lists the cause of death as "multiple gunshot wounds". But then, I'm psychic.......psycho.....whatever ;D

I have confirmed the COD. Final Report: A terminal case of dumbass, exacerbated by accute lead poisoning. ;D
I think we have at least a quarterly finalist, if not the overall yearly winner.

Actually, a cartridge that isn't in a chamber is less likely to hurt you with the bullet. The brass will be more dangerous than the bullet as it's the lightest part of the cartridge.
Physics are stubborn things, the case will move farther than the heavier bullet when it goes kaboom.....I don't want to find out the hard way though..

Unless of course it's contained, like, say and Ammo can.. ;D

Ya know what I hate about this story? The truckload of ammo that was made to needlessly suffer and go to waste. :(

Sounds like suicide by cop.

In which case he did a bang up job. He at least gets style points. I mean a rural Tx. Pd.? A cooking off car full of ammo, firing into the station? (Lets assume he was aiming high for this scenario, and didn't really want to hurt anyone). Short of parking a Ryder truck in front of the White House and running like hell, I can't think of a quicker way to die at the hands of LEOs. The fool at least gets props for creativity. Still a jerk for making some deputy take a life though. >:(
