WAIT WAIT WAIT !

At 0:22, did the guy just point the gun at his head?

DISQUALIFICATION.

BANNED FROM THE RANGE UNTIL COMPLETION OF A SAFETY COURSE AND DEMONSTRATION OF SAFE HANDLING TECHNIQUES.

Yes he did.  VERY dangerous gun handling.

I have been waiting and thinking about how to respond or admit to my feelings.  Haz may not be the best example for my life  ;), but I'll trust alf!

Seriously,  I tried watching it three times and never got past 25 seconds.  The move at 22 seconds where you used the hand holding the gun to adjust hearing protection was dangerous to both the shooter and those behind who also got swept with the muzzle.

Delete the video and try again!

Sorry, not going to subscribe!

You need more 'practice, practice, practice'  of safe gun handling, preferably with an UNLOADED firearm!

It took lots of fortitude to push past 0:25.   Quite frankly it's not very good  after that.  No "instruction".  No discussion of technique.  OH TECHNIQUE?  There was little.

VERY POOR USE OF COVER.   VERY POOR.   One example is the younger shooter who has to point  his gun vertically to move from one side to the other.

VERY POOR VIDEO PRODUCTION.     All in all, I've got high school kids who can produce better training videos.......no scratch that, I've got kids around here who DO produce better videos.

NO THANKS HERE EITHER.

I was turned off at second 22, but I trust others that went further and am glad I didn't waste time.

I am not sorry I pointed out his error, and asked him to delete it and try again.

However, the fact that he would delete a post by someone on here that would call him on the safety issues speaks volumes!

Try again. Safety issues. He put a locked and cocked weapon to the side of his head to adjust his hearing protection.  :o

I meant to delete the current video, and produce one where he doesn't put a loaded gun in his ear.

Good thing Donald Trump isn't posting. The OP would be FIRED at 22sec. mark.

Seriously, vsorrentino, I'm sure you mean well, and practice is truly something we as gun owners, can always use more of.

Realize that many here at DRTV, are NRA Certified Instructors, Range Officers, competition shooters, and other folks in LE, and the SD biz. It's an honest mistake, but one that CANNOT be allowed to happen on any range.
The consequences are just too great.

Hope you learn from it, and like you posted:

Practice, practice, practice.

I had to watch the first few seconds twice to see the "oopsie" because: A: the loud bad music was distracting and B: the "thought" bubble covered it up unless you looked closely. Note: The thought bubble was blank. Gee, I wonder why? Maybe it was a " caption this photo" deal. As in : "My God! What did I just do?"!
Yikes indeed.
I do not, however think this shooting program is worthless. Caption it in Pashtu. I think the Pakistani market could use it. ;D

I don't think that "thought bubble" was there when I watched the video for the first time.

Looks like trying to hide the error is quicker than getting a new video posted.

To the Op:
If I sounded too snarky in my post, I apologize. i didn't mean to pile on. Its just that a lot of new shooters watch this stuff. Lesson the first: Learn what NOT to point your gun at at before you worry about where to point it.
I'd rather go into a gunfight with someone who understood safe practices and couldn't hit a barn from the inside, versus someone who can hit the x ring at 50 yards and would sweep me with the muzzle.
Bullets come "addressed to occupant'. That's lesson one. The rest is just technique. Something we ALL need to be reminded of from time to time. So I guess this instructional video really was. Just not in the way the maker intended.

It's bad enough he did what he did, but then he posted it as a training video, encouraging others to watch.     Making him a failure at shooting safely and as an artistic director.

I certainly hope vsorrentino posts again, it happened, we caught it, we mentioned it, and it reminded us all that our love and passion for firearms, comes with NO margin of error when it comes to safety.

NRA rule #1

Always keep the gun pointed in a safe direction,
This is the primary rule of gun safety. A safe direction means that the gun is pointed so that even if it were to go off it would not cause injury or damage.

http://www.nrahq.org/education/guide.asp

Even the OP has to know this, and I hope he keeps posting, learning, and practicing.
