Went to a small Classic Arms, Military Collectible show at a local VFW. Not the "big" show that usually comes. Totally different show, only C&R, military relics, accessories, etc,...
Well, most of you know I have an 1891 Argentine Mauser in 7.65x53. Who would have thought I would find an authentic 1891 Argentine Mauser Bayonet with scabbard. :o

It's in fantastic shape, has some oil on it, which I didn't clean off yet. and STILL sharp, great edge. Scabbard is in great shape, leather, with no tears.

Thought even though the rifle is sporterized, is slips right on. ;D Helluva sticker, mini sword.
Also picked up a complete cleaning kit and stripper clips for the Moisin-Nagant 91/30 ::)

Nice find!
Reminiscent - through the handle and guard of the Gras bayonet - which I only know about because i have one. How it came into the family, no one knows.
Blade is radically different, the Gras has a triangular shape to it. The grip is definitely different as well, But the guard is nearly identical, and the attachment with the button on the left side is exactly the same from the photos.

Thanks Guys, Now FINALLY a link on How-To UnSporterize it.

It appears I have the Engineers Carbine version, as the original had a 29 1/2" barrel. (Go figure, Grandpa was an Engineer)

98% of the time, you are correct...I'm thankful for the 2%, with gun shows, and my past life when I was single, and had enough money to "burn" at said adult establishments... ::)

Got a gun show coming up this week end, I haven't been to this one in 2 or 3 years because it was always the same people with the same stuff.
