MB, You're absolutely right. We should NOT support a competition staged by a committee that does not support our sport and in fact actively tries to suppress it!
Just like all competitions in California!

California is a mission trip. The PEOPLE still have a chance to hear the truth.

Haz...I agree with you on a philosophical level, with a major caveat...Cali was once a hotbed of competition...combat/practical shooting started there...cowboy started there...practical revolver started there...Steel Challenge is still there...
It's hard for me to punish the people running matches in Cali because so many of them are "trapped" there...by job...by family...by a wretched economy...
OTOH, I have strongly urged people NOT to locate a match there now!

Well, MB I appreciate the 'no new matches' but I think we need to move all of the major matches out. Sorry for the good people that will lose out but we MUST send a consistent message.
Ammo mfgs need to STOP selling there (including and ESPECIALLY to LEO). Stop selling guns there (once again include LEO). MAKE the people push for their rights and maybe something will get done.

Unfortunately that is EXACTLY what they want (minus the LEOs).
I was at a local indoor range in San Diego last week. I used to shoot there a lot before I left in 99. The night I was there there was at least half dozen NEW shooters who had partners that had never shot before. Part of it was that the range's insurance required that all rentals must have two shooters on the lane. There was a rash of suicides when someone rented it and saved the last round for themselves. Without the restrictions and the price of ammo ($25 per box of 50 American Eagle 9mm), that is at least a good sign that they were willling to give it a try. Some were women too.
Restricting the ammo and firearms isn't the answer. Better educating the shooters, especially new ones will be more effective.

Sorry Jnevis. The idiots out there need to find out what it's like when their bodyguards and LEO can't get guns or ammo. Let them feel helpless like they make the rest of the people in CA.

Haz, it aint gonna happen.
All businesses are run by bean counters now a days, few "companies are going to show the kind of principle shown by Ronnie Barrett.

I know, Tom but I can hope and agitate. ;)

Would be interesting if they did refuse to sell guns to New York.
Would be interesting to catch Bloomberg's flunkies making straw purchases in PA, Ohio and the Virginias to arm his police and bodyguards.

Hoo hoo ! Agitating is what Hazcats do best !
