No need to worry about "DREAM ACT" the rest of this month.

Quote
"The whole thing is a political train wreck," said Richard Socarides, a White House adviser on gay rights during the Clinton administration.

So many places that statement could fit into the current administration.

I saw a lot about gays (man, I HATE that word usage), what about ILLEGALS?

Sad thing is that this is a partisan issue. I would think that common sense would say that if you volunteer to put on a uniform and pick up a gun in a time of war, you are more than welcome. Who cares where you dip your wick?
Likewise, illegall means illegal. Being here is a crime. However, what about the kids had no choice? Who know no other nation but this one? Punish the parents by all means, but the kids had no say in the matter. They should get to stay.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I really dont think these are radical positions.

Haz, the Dream Act was tacked on to this DADT bill by Harry Reid. DADT appeal was voted down so that included the Dream Act.

FQ Quacked:"Maybe I'm crazy"

FQ, THAT is the understatement of the month! (and I'm NOT being mean!) If the kids are given amnesty, then they can bring their families here after 5yrs. Then they can ALL be eligible for welfare and food stamps! Is that what you want? I thought not.

Thanks, McGyver.

And sorry for the kids FQ, but being born here SHOULD not be the deciding factor and if they were 'smuggled' in by the parents then they go home, too.

As far as the 'legal anchor babies' here now.  They have a choice.  Go into foster care or go home with the parents.

On that point I agree. Your kid may be legal, but you aren't. See ya. Take the kid, who can return on her own when she's old enough, but you are not only gone, but have lost all chance to come back. Alternatively, give her up to a citizen. Harsh, but fair.
The Dream Act? These kids didn't get a choice. The Act says they can buy their way in with community or military service. They do that, and I'd rather have them than some fresh off the boat legal immigrant I know nothing about. These kids were raised here, speak English and consider themselves American. Unlike new immigrants, we have their whole record to look at. Which would you rather have?

I'd rather have every one here legally.
As for the rest, I don't care about fair for them, their very presence is unfair and insulting to citizens and legal aliens.
