I would imagine that every dirty trick in the book will be tried this Nov. to compensate for plunging popularity.

Expect a new chapter or two to be added to that book too.

If our side isn't doing it, (and they usually don't   :-\  ) They are foolish.
This is the future of the country we're talking about. Scruples may be fine for business, but politics is a subject where we have discussed armed insurrection, a little "Political chicanery" is minor.
Last Republican who understood the game was Nixon, he just lacked finesse. Had he been a little less ham handed he never would have got caught.    ;D

I don't think they'll have to work very hold on to what they have in Nov. Everybody has been going on and on for several months now on how much the Republicans will walk away with. I think this will encourage lots of folks who would vote Republican to stay home rather than vote.

I believe quite the opposite will happen Herknav. Maybe it'll wake their sorry butts up and force them out to vote!

The point you and many others are missing is that it is not Rep. Party favorites doing the winning.
Most of the races between a "Tea Party" candidate and a Party favorite have gone to the Tea Party.
Not only will Conservatives not stay home, when the dust settles the Republican party will be just as stunned as the Dems.

And exactly what would the problem with that be, Tom? Most republicans are worse than the democraps!

Actually, I didn't miss that point. I never said anything about the mainstream candidates or those endorsed by the big Republican Party. Democrats and Republicans are merely two different wings of the "Big Government" party.

I hope you're right about conservatives. However, the mainstream media and the pundits are hyping up a victory before it's happened. I think the intent is to fire up the D base and to mollify the angry voters into staying home because of a sure victory. The American people don't stay angry for long, and I'm afraid their anger may peak before the election. I hope I'm wrong.

MOST of us here have been angry for 2yrs or more, and OUR anger hasn't come close to piquing, YET! (We ARE the American public, are we not?)

Hopefully, your pique (and that of the average voter) has not peaked. However, the fact that many of you have been angry for only 2 years tells me that you are OK with the alternative choice. This supports my thought that McCain could've gotten 80% of Obama's agenda passed with the only upset folks being those on the left that didn't think it went far enough.

I have little faith in the average voter based on the choices they/we have placed on the ballot. I can only remember one guy I felt good about voting for in a Presidential election...ever. The rest have all been a choice between what rights I would rather have infringed. As a small government supporter, I know I am an extremist. I can confidently say that I am NOT the American public. I am comfortably alone in my beliefs.

I am just saying we should be aware that I think the media is trying to lull us into complacency and telling us we don't need to come to the polls because it's a done deal. Grandma had a saying about that...something about counting your chickens before they hatch. Hopefully, I am wrong. Hopefully, voters clean house in November and they don't go back to sleep instead of holding the new guys accountable.

You're not nearly so alone as you think you are herknav. Every election I have to decide whether I want them in my bank account or my bedroom. Do I want to fight unecessay wars or cede more power to IGOs? Do I want more draconian drug laws and stupid "three stikes" sentencing, or to have my gun rights eroded? Hell, I've been pissed since high school. >:(
FQ13 who would for once like to have someone to vote for, not against

I too, support a small gov't, with less spending and even more less rights infringement. I can't even classify myself as a voter, I just vote for the person I think will do the better job of representation without lying to us just to get an elected position! Partisan politics have no place in my decision making, aside from the usually obvious dipsh$ts that blatantly prowl on the obviously stupid general public! LOL! (ie: Odammit)    ;D

I take GREAT offense at someone that uses "Chicago gangster" tactics to hide his agenda from the masses. Then blatantly kisses Muslim AZZ but still can't produce ANY evidence he was born here!

JMHO and YMMV

We are all preaching to the choir here, I'm another one who has been PO'd since the 60's and 70's.
I agree with Herknav, the fault does not lie with the scumbag ambulance chasing vermin in Washington, We,  ("The Voters") sent them there, and have been happily enjoying the "bread and Circus's for 40 years.
As to the "Chicago style thug politics", Hey, politics has always been nasty, ( Borgia, Caesar,Alexander Hamilton , )
But why is the fun stuff always the province of the stupid people with the bad ideas ?
Why can't the people with good ideas apply Alinsky's methods ?
Fair, honest debate of verified facts may be fine in a court room or laboratory, but we are not dealing with reasonable or intelligent people.
We are dealing with the type of dumb azzes who would elect an Obummer in the first place, sensible debate has no place in their world, neither do "fact checking" or "Research".
