No background info in the story at link, so take it for what it is worth.
Sent to me by a friend who is a cop, and he was upset about the handling of this man. He stands with us on the way the country is going and is glad he is less than a year from retirement so, as he says, "He can get out before the police state comes to power."

Thanks for the link, Haz. I did a google search and for some reason, this link didn't show anywhere based on my prescribed parameters. I figured there was more to it (there always is).
I still don't like the way they man-handled the guy, even if they say he was 'wrong' by their 'standards'.
I particularly liked this part of the statement for our 'no sh!t?' comment of the day:
FTA:
As to how Hill managed to enter the fairgrounds with a handgun – entrances to the fairgrounds are posted with signs that say firearms are not allowed. Fair security do not conduct backpack or purse searches as fairgoers enter the property.

This is a private-run event by a private company and they can do what they want. It's evident when the state trooper shows up he makes sure a riot doesn't start and then gets out of there PRONTO...he knows it's BS.
What they did is wrong EVEN if it's privately run on leased or private land, if for NO other reason than it has the state's name on it...the Alaska State Fair. The company should pay a fine and a settlement and be barred from ever staging another publicly endorsed event. The guy should sue. The state attorney general should look into the whole thing. In fact, Eric Holder should look into it.
If the friggin' black panthers have the right of free speech at a polling place, THIS guy had every right to what he was doing, and our federal government should be on them like white on rice. Investigate and Prosecute, Attorney General Holder!

While it is a private company, it is also a Non-Profit company that would enjoy certain tax benefits.
Should they have a policy against Large Signs or all political statements, that is their business, but if they pick and choose which political statements are acceptable, I'd think their tax exempt status is bye bye.
