Title: FYI
Post by: ellis4538 on February 16, 2008, 08:18:46 AM
I received an e-mail recently with some info which desturbed me...Anyone with kids/teens at home, gun enthusiasts or whatever take note.  Many of you may already have heard about this, others not.

If you go to http://www.google.com/ and then do a Google Searce of your telephone number w/area code the name registered with the p# and address will come (unless it is unlisted - I think).  It is scary to think who could do this after getting your p# and what they could do with it - to you and your family.

To delete your info click on your p# and choices will come up.  It takes about 2 days to be deleted.

IMHO it is worht the time

I'm surprised anyone is surprised!  For years I've been doing that search on White Pages Phone Directory, and before the internet, at the library using the reverse look up books (I forget the proper name).  You can do a reverse on a phone number or address.
I use it to get the proper spelling on a potential customer's name and correct address when they call and leave a call back number.
Nothing even remotely new, the books have been at the library for as long as I can remember, at least thirty years.
