Title: Progressive Auto Insurance??? ??? ???

This is a heads up regarding Progressive Auto Insurance. You know who they are.  They are the ones with the clever television ads featuring the perky brunette actress all dressed in white.  What you might not know is that the chairman of Progressive is Peter Lewis, one of the largest funders of the left in America.  He’s your typical rich spoiled kid who took over the company from his father and apparently feels “guilty” for his success and now dedicates himself to making it impossible for anyone else to become wealthy.

Between 2001 and 2003, Lewis funneled $15 million to the ACLU, the group most responsible for destroying what’s left of America’s Judeo-Christian heritage.  Indeed, Lewis is himself an ACLU member.  One of the ACLU projects he earmarked his funds for was an effort to sue school districts that have drug-testing policies.  In other words, this idiot wants teachers to be able to use drugs without fear of exposure.  I wonder what he would think if all his own employees came to work drugged out every day.

Lewis also gave $12.5 million to MoveOn.org and Americans Coming Together, two key components of the socialist left.  The former group is perhaps the main group used by the Obama forces to organize their activists; the latter group is a 527 political action group that essentially served as a front for the SEIU union thugs who ran ACORN.  His funding for these groups was conditional on matching contributions from George Soros, the international socialist who finances much of the Obama political network.

It’s disturbing that Lewis made a fortune as a result of capitalism but now finances a progressive movement that threatens to destroy the free enterprise system.  He reminds me somewhat of Arm and Hammer, the former head of Occidental Petroleum, who did business with Joseph Stalin and become his good friend around the same time Stalin was executing business men all over the USSR .

What angers me further is the way this company is targeting television shows watched by conservatives such as Fox News.  Peter Lewis is making a fortune off of conservative Americans so that he can destroy our country.
He’s banking on no one finding out who he is.  I think it’s time we expose this clown.

Hence the name "Progressive"... My wife and I had them for years in N.C. No claims or tickets, when I moved to Florida, I knew insurance was higher, but they did not even review or suggest other limits and amounts of coverage to lower my rate.

Got a free quote from several other companies, and many were lower, so I switched insurance companies.

If this is the case, than perhaps others should do the same.

I remember seeing a (very long) list of companies that supported the radical left agenda.  Anyone gotta link?

Had them for 14yrs. As soon as I found out about this I dropped them like a hot tater! Along with a nice longggggg letter explaining why I dropped them, I also sent them a dozen BLACK roses to wish DEATH upon their company! (I know I'm evil, get over it)

The corner is lookin' good this time of year! Nice curtains!

M'ette made them,

So, Progressive is progressive, not really surprised, it has been used by communists as a synonym for Marxist for at least 90 years now, and probably as far back as Marx's time.

Armand Hammer and Walter Durante both walked past piles of corpses then reported that they saw no sign of Stalin's manufactured famine in the Ukraine.

It's been out for around 3-5yrs now. Sucks to think I supported this bastard's agenda for so long.  AARP is just as bad but I'm not "old" enough for them to start sending me their sh&t, but that won't be long!  (2yrs). I'll do the same for them, if not worse!

AARP has not sent me anything since I sent them a weeks worth of junk mail in their envelope  ;D

Can't get my Step mother to drop them though.

I was with GEICO for 30 years and when I changed vehicles they raised my rates. I checked around and Progressive was half as much, thats right 1/2 as much. I called GEICO and they couldnt have cared less if I switched, so screw them, I wont cut my nose off to spite my face. Im staying with Progressive .

Very similar experience.  I had a minor fender-bender on March 1, of 2008 and every quote I  got from a number of companies was several hundred dollars higer.  21st Century tells me they will beat Progressive's price on March 2 2011.  That's when I make the change.  Makes me sick to think I am supporting the enemy's agenda, but dough is scarce these days so I must until March 2.

I was with Progressive for a long long time...because friends of mine here sold it. In years past...I had checked lots of company's and Progressive was always the better deal.. ( and they are high) They upped my yearly cost 'one more time'...which finally pissed me off for good!
Last year I got a quote from Liberty Mutual. I pay in one year with them what Progressive was charging me for 6 months PLUS ..I changed over everything.. and  have my homeowners with them too...with lower deductible.. more coverage and HALF what Progressive was charging me there too..
I dropped Progressive like a hot potato..

Doesn't matter what auto insurance you have...after a year or two you have to shop because they boost their premiums and there's always a better deal. I have to say though that I went with Liberty Mutual this year too and they are reasonable. Even for NJ.

Remember though, its not just the price of the premiums, its how quick they pay. They'll all cash a check, its how willing they are to write one that matters. Its why I stick with USAA. There are cheaper companies out there, but in the claims I've made over the years, from a car to a bike to a canoe, I've gotten the cash inside of two weeks, zero hassel.

You make a good point, Quaker.  I'm sticking with Auto Owners.  I have auto, and homeowner's there.  In the past year and a half I've had 3 claims totaling well over $25,000, and not only were the checks received in short order, but my agent is still accepting my calls, and my rates have actually DECREASED.

The only reason is that they have seen the picture of you in 'yo gansta hat"... and they know if they don't answer your calls ..you'll come over and have Louie put a cap in their ass...  :)

I had a simlar exp with liberty mutual, only I was leaving AAA.  so far they have been great, just wish they would be able to insure my boats.  finding insurance for older boats is extremly hard.   So far no complaints, did have a theft claim a few years back on a dump trailer.  They paid up right away.( it was a comm'l policy) my rates stayed the same.

I stick with a local branch of our farm bureau for the state. Very competitive rates and good local face-to-face service. Had a guy hit our vehicle last year and we went by to tell our agent...... and he said just give him the paperwork and he'd handle all the work.

Don't get me started on farm bureau  >:(

They stopped representing the farmer and became political insiders a LONG TIME AGO!!!

I have found that your credit has more to do with your insurance rates than your claims. My agent recently confirmed this to me. I traded in my '08 truck for a '11 with more features, and my insurance WENT DOWN. Not a lot. I think $20 a year, but my agent told me point blank it was because my credit score went over one of their "levels".

Okey dokey, I won't get you started on farm bureau........  ::)

Just saying my family has had nothing but good service and good rates for over 20 years, and I deal with a local agent that knows me and my family. I've had to deal with too many 'other' insurance companies over the phone, after someone else hit my vehicles, and it was always a nightmare. When I can deal with someone who will come to my house to look at a damaged roof and cut me a check the next day and bring it to me, I tend to stick with them.......that's all I'm saying..... nothing to do with politics.
I'm simply looking out for me and mine.....YMMV.

I think almost all insurance companies are using credit ratings to fix premium rates these days. The trick probably lies in working your way around as many discounts as you can get on your car insurance (http://hartfordauto.thehartford.com/Auto-Insurance/affordable-car-insurance.shtml) policy.
