Post by: Hazcat on October 20, 2010, 12:46:07 PM
Didn't really 'need' it and can't really afford to spend any on guns right now BUT....

I couldn't resist (damn good price)

Mossberg 500A 'Police Edition" 12 ga pre '68

COOL bolt!

It IS after all, a pre-68. ROFL. ;D
Seriously, nice gun. I've kind of gotten sold on the tupperware for SD, but there is something solid and reassuring about a good solid wood butt stock.

Very nice.   Surprised the "police edition" didn't have a longer mag tube.

I thought the bolt was really cool with the 'dragon scales'.  Cleaned up pretty well.
The toe has been here for 17 years (Haz Jr) ;)

I guess they thought 5 will do (or 5 + 1).  But it is stamped "Police Gun" right on the barrel.

Very nice Haz. When in doubt, an ol' 12g, just about covers all needs.

Don't tell deepwater,...he's sensitive,.... ::)

No bells and whistles necessary for that one...

Did the bolt come like that from the factory?

Is the Barrel 18.5 inches or 20  ?
Think about the Knoxx recoil absorbing stock. I like the wood stocks myself but the Knoxx gives you an adjustable length of pull with the M-4 style collapsible stock.
And it only fits Mossberg 500 or Rem 870    ;D

18.5 and I just ordered a new recoil pad for it.

Ahhh nothing says Sit Down and STFU like a scatter gun, good for all occasions, weddings, daughters boyfriends and the occasional scumbag home invader, of course it may be used in the persuit of busting clay type flying things as well but not as satisfying as the first three mentioned.
I am a little bit unsure which is the more threatening sound the racking of a pump or the double click of hammers, which ever it is I wouldnt like being on the recieving end of either sound or 32 grams of 00 buckshot.
