Title: Obama's Slight of Hand with the Declaration of independance

Granted he, bHO, didn't exactly say, "I'm quoting the Declaration of Independence" but most people recognize this phrase.

At first blush, that seems like a fine statement about what makes America exceptional. But look at President Obama's "quote"
from the Declaration of Independence again. Here is what the Declaration actually says: "We hold these truths to be
self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that
among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

Now some of you may not believe in a creator God.   But regardless, you should be appalled at the blatant attempt to re-write historical documents as BHO see fit.   And this wasn't a mere slip from Mr-I-don't-speak-without-my-teleprompter as he's read the same "quote"  on several occasions.

This is the third (or fourth) time he has deliberately missed the 'by their Creator" part!

He has proven to be a believer in the misconception that Thomas Jefferson wanted a compete, solid and unbreachable wall between Church and State.  This group forgets that Mr. Jefferson and the rest of the founding fathers recognized God/Creator, and showed it in not only their writings, but also with their prayer sessions preceding, during and at the conclusion of most of their meetings.  How far will they go to erase historic public documents and sand blast inscriptions from public buildings to pretend God was not on the minds of our founders?

I am beyond trying to figure out his lack of respect for the founders and foundation of this nation, his lack of respect for the symbols of this nation (crotch salute that he has perfected), placing other nations and rulers above us, etc., etc., etc.  I pray that 2010 is step one in a return of our nation, and 2012 will overthrow the BHO administration for good.

He actually meant to say, "...that they are endowed by Me with certain inalienable rights..." but TOTUS accidentally skipped a line.

You have hit the nail on the head, my friend.  When he heard the verse, "Though shall have no other Gods before me", he thought the "me" it referred to was him.

Several speeches available on the web, show his "convenient" omission of WHAT THE DOCUMENT STATES!!!!

Nothing surprises me anymore from a usurping, socialist, POTUS.

Sad part is people actually clap and cheer for this guy. :-[

Some of what you guys have posted I vehemently disagree with, such as the crap about the Declaration and Constitution being inspired by God, the Constitution is a flawed document that was hammered out by politicians, some of whom were scumbags worthy of today's congress.  There was a very good reason Burr killed Hamilton, and it probably saved the Republic from an early death. It wasn't God who inspired them to pass the Constitution, it was the guy who nailed the windows shut in the summer time.
The stuff about how religious they were is also doubtful, they sure missed out on that rendering unto Caeser bit.
However, the documents say what they say, and if you are going to quote a document that every citizen should be familiar with, you should get it right, or look like an idiot.
Of course those assholes on the left will say he got it right, the parchment under glass at the Archive is a misprint  ::)
