Anyone have any inside skinny? He's obviously a keen gun guy, but does he deserve my brotherly love if he's in bed with the Feds?

We go way back. I'd call him, but he's in an "undisclosed location" right now (at least if he's smart). ::) ;D

It would be nice to see another story or two on him and his situation. This is one, and we all know that in today's world of political news we can't trust a single source.
All of that said if this story is the 100% truth, Lee Booth is wrong, and the Government screwed up!
With the free exercise of our Rights comes responsibility. As protectors of our Freedoms we need to also be diligent to live within the limits of a civil society. Kidnapping is not acceptable behavior in any civil society that I know of. He needs to either clear himself of these charges and convictions, or he needs to accept the penalty of his crimes.
Now, if he is unjustly accused and convicted ... well ... that is what the Second Amendment is all about! Like I said at the beginning - I need more information before I stand up in public and either convict or defend him.

Don't have any facts, and I didn't read the whole story so I don't know if the kidnapping charge was discussed in detail.
My guess about that, because of an early release, is that it might have been part of a custody fight and perhaps he picked up his kid from school when he did not have custody and the mother or other guardian pushed the case all the way.
While certainly illegal, instances of kidnapping in that manner aren't the type of crime we generally associate with that charge.

He served more than a year for a felony. That appears to be a fact. Unless he weasled a pardon he is looking for more time.

Just a side note to the discussion of firearm ownership by felons.
Owning and possessing are two different things, and I believe it's the possessing part that's illegal for a felon. As an example a felon can own Ruger firearms, (or at least be a part owner) without ever possessing a firearm. And the flip side is if a felon possess a firearm, even if he doesn't own it, he would be in violation of the law.

81 to 85, 4year prison term for kidnapping? ???
This guy is a "hot potato", I'm sure its just a matter of time before they (ATF, Fed's), Madoff him...
I guess the ATF and DOJ, are busy with AZ, and those M1's, tea-party folks, and those evil right wing militias....
