Couldn't find the poll mentioned. But this is from WGN, bland for-the-masses stations (TV and radio) owned by the Chicago Tribune, once a bastion of conservatism, now just another liberal mouthpiece, not to be trusted. Probably touting a Daley-sponsored anti-gun screed.

Found it. As of 10:21 CST here are the results:

The NIU shooting makes me think...
That we should make it still harder to get a gun.
134790         79.4%

That maybe Illinois should be a concealed carry state.
34726         20.5%

That our law shouldn't change.
212         0.1%

Number of Voters     :  169727
First Vote     :  Friday, 15 February 2008 15:10
Last Vote     :  Sunday, 17 February 2008 10:20

Not surprising given the propaganda that has been spewed by the Daley machine for the last 2 decades. And notice the wording of the questions - we should vs maybe Illinois (not we, the state). Lame and biased, slanted, self-serving. Again, no surprise.

Notice it concluded with the line:

"The John Williams NewsClick is not a scientific poll. "  - DUH!!!! They probably don't even use cookies to prevent people from voting more than once. Too uncaring myself to go look at my cookie file. Besides, delete the cookie and you can fulfill the Chicago imperative - vote early and often.

I can't find the poll, but it doesn't surprise me that the sheeple of Chicago want more gun laws. When Rudy first started to run for pres. and was asked about the 2nd amend. he said that New York was different than the rest of the country, They couldn't be trusted with firearms because of the big city mentality of the people. Not one news agency thought that was a bad thing to say! Thats fine with me, give the rest of us in Illinois a CCW and I'll stay the hell out of Chicago. I don't go there now.

What did I say, huh? These knee-jerk reactions are as predictable as the sunset, and they will cause us problems as the ADD generation come off thier meds.

Ya they removed it.

The gun owners of IL lost big.

When will these knockle heads learn... Shootings only happen in gun free zones. When is the last time you heard of mass shooting at a gun show or a gun range?

Gun owners were winning big in this poll, one forum I belong to, a member listed to the radio station, they were pleading with listeners to find all their liberal buddies to vote against the second amendment.  Also rumor has it, that they allowed multiple computer generated votes in for restricting gun owners, but not for pro gunners...  This sounds to me like a good BOHICA effort by the unhonorable Daily...

Basically, one of the reasons I moved to Texas was because of Cook County.  Very Anti-Gun!
