There's also a free bloomin' onion and beverage at Outback, and a free entree at Applebee's. When we had a Golden Corral here I went on Vets day and the line wrapped around the whole building so I left. http://www.applebees.com/#/vetsDay http://www.outback.com/companyinfo/thanksforgiving.aspx

Good for all three. I wish more chain restaraunts would do this. The vets and active duty put their butts on the line for us. You'd think a free order of fajitas once a year would be the norm. It certainly should be. Hell, I'd even be up for it if non vets paid double to cover the freebies for the vets. I'd show up.

There is a Chevrolet dealership next to the Cabelas in Rogers, MN that is giving military free oil changes.  Friday on my way home I was flipping between three stations, and I heard their ad over and over and over and over.

Flying from Mineapolis to Bozeman there was a young sergeant from the Mt. National Guard coming home. A very standup guy in first class switched seats with him. While we were waiting in bagage claim I thanked him for his his service. He was a bit teary eyed, (and more than a lttle buzzed) and said than from the time he got on a plane in Italy until he got home, he hadn't been able to buy a drink or pay for a meal. Thats the way it should be.

Wouldn't it be great if 261 chains around the country each picked a "Veterans Free" Day.

261 is the average number of weekdays in a year so a Vet would be honored with a free meal every working day.

I understand Golden Coral does not do any verification of Vet status, which I guess is good because the Vet gets no hassle and Golden Coral gets the write off for all the meals.....but I'd like to see the non vets in the line get their asses kicked.

I was stationed in Spain a few years.  When we went out to local bars and restraunts it didn't take long to notice the Spanish military guys (we shared a base with) all ate and drank free.  As I recall, they were all required to serve 3 years when they turned 18.  I don't see a single thing wrong with any of that!

Except most 18 yr olds I see or know in our country are to pu$$^ to make it through basic, much less serve three years...   :(

The only way most of them "serve 3 years" is if they were sentenced to 5.
