Title: Loaded mag found on SW flight
Post by: kmitch200 on November 23, 2010, 12:21:49 PM
Just a few minutes ago CNN reports that one of their crews found a loaded pistol mag on a Southwest flight from Burbank to Phoenix. They notified the flight crew and no problems on the flight.

So did an Air Marshall drop a mag? If so you got some 'splainin to do!
Did the TSA miss a pistol mag in their search of the carry on stuff?
Did the crew that 'cleans' the aircraft drop a mag?

Inquiring minds want to know!!

When I was in college I brought a dissambled paintball gun on a plane, CO2 tank and all. I'd been told by friends it would fly if I took it apart and said nothing, so, being 19 and dumb, I figured, "Oh, its ok". Sure as hell, it was! :o Even then, the idea that I could walk onto a plane with what would look like a dissasembled fire arm, not to mention a 20 oz compresed air tank (empty) seemed to be absurd. If they're looking at my shoes and grabbing my crothch, how did they let a mag get through?  I mean even a jackass knows what a clip looks like. Maybe three guys, each with a dissassembled part? WTF?

Okay, maybe I lost my last little bit of humor (too many a-holes today) or I am overlooking the obvious, but someone needs to enlighten me.  ???

Just poking fun at Haz's clip thing. I used mag in the post, then pointed out even a jackass could find a clip, meaning TSA, but also waiting for the clip police. It was a very small joke, and meant in good fun.

What amazes me about this whole thing is that there were aircraft back when FQ was in college.

Pecos

I did hear on CBS that it was determined that the  magazine was from a "law enforcement officer" on a previous flight.

FQ13 who still thinks sticking it to the clip police was funny. ;)

If I would have found it, and it fit a gun I owned, it would have went into my pocket, and that would have been that. At least until they start patting down my "junk" getting OFF the plane.  Bill T.

Their all clips to a Jackass, Ichiban, No matter what they really are, and they all go to bolt action sniper machine guns.   ;D

Why would it need to fit one you have?  It was loaded with good usable ammunition, and everyone needs trade material.

I read that, as well, then in the next sentence they said they were convinced that it was NOT lost by a sky marshal.  So a LEO on a prisoner transfer, perhaps?

Or else Juan Pecos, AKA "The Stabber" out of Juarez. Either way, someone else we need to whack.   Bill T.
