I went hunting at my cousin's place in east Texas this weekend, and my wife and granddaughter came along. Since my oldest granddaughter had only shot BB guns, I told her she could shoot a 22 rifle of her choice after the hunting was done. She chose the Henry Golden Boy, so that's what we took along for her. After 100 rounds she decided she wanted to shoot my pistol, so I let her give it a try. That 10 year old prefers the 45Colt. She's already asked to go with me to the range to put more shots downrange with the Vaquero. We may have another shooter in the making.

Absolutely fantastic. My own grandsons are both under two, so I've got a wait to get some memories as fine as these.

Nice!!!

Dear Santa:
I've been really, really good this year! Grandad said to always buy American. I heard Ruger was a good company too. Can I Pleeeeeeease get a cowboy hat and a colt .45, just like Mr. Halloway? I promise I won't shoot my eye out. Honest. ;D

PS Keep the pony. I want the gun. ;)

Good job! We need to take our grandchildren shooting at every opportunity. That is the surest protection for the Constitution I can think of. And it is fun for grandpa and grandma. BTW Grandmother shot the first pheasant of the hunt yesterday with her .410.

My oldest "grand" is 3 and a-half. We'll start with air guns this summer in the back yard. She's got a determined streak in her. Here she is acting out the part of a pirate repelling boarders at a local theatre.

You "Grandpa's" are doing alright. Always good to read and see the pics of future generations that will grow up to NOT be sheeple.
There are life lesson's to provide these children, more than just gun safety and marksmanship. We know what they are, and they won't soon forget. The look in a young girls eye "repelling pirates", says it all.
Hell, I'd get a Henry Golden Boy. ;D

I remember the photo from another thread, Alf. It's just as impressive this time.
I think you have the makings of a great poster....maybe something like Defending Freedom....You are never too young
I just see so much in the photo....determination, readiness, alertness, capability, fierceness, dependability...all in a 3 year old

You should post that as a caption thread Alf.
