I don't know the laws in that state, so I can't say rather or not they should be charged or not.


It was a bad deal all around thats for sure, but It could have been avoided.

If they have video of the incident I don't see how it could be anything other than "evidence".
I'm pretty sure the whole purpose of a jury trial is to weight all the evidence before coming to a decision.
Of course it is a liberal stronghold so that may not apply in all cases.

From what I read at the time the charges are valid in that the ranges own rules, as well as possibly federal laws were violated, since the "instructor" who was supervising the boy was only 16.

Not really sure how putting anyone in jail for it helps, unless you're the kind who wants a pound of flesh for every tragedy. There was no ill intent here, just a bunch of otherwise harmless idiots who are no doubt sadder and wiser.

From the news accounts at the time,( including those posted here) It seems that State and federal laws may have been broken.
The "Former Police chief" may have had some other legal problems as well though I don't remember what they were and do not have time to google it.
