The USP 45 hasn't been one of the models that has had the RFID cutout …yet.

I have a USP and it is great. Can be carried cocked and locked, safety-off - hammer down, safety-on - hammer down and can even be cocked with the safety on for whatever reason. Also, a round can be chambered with the safety on. Handling is great and they eat everything. It is a little large and blocky, so I wouldn't recommend it to those with smaller hands.

Great pistol, and a good thing, as civilian customer service can be slow, if it's ever needed.

They do make a compact. If it's an option, the full size is exactly that.

I'm a S&W fan and owner, but HK pistols, for the price, are damn good.

My USP is in 9 MM, but it's basically the same gun.......... PROS: Well made, runs like a Rolex, fits and balances well in the hand, good sights, nice over sized trigger guard........CONS: Overpriced magazines that are not as well constructed as a Glock mag, doesn't field strip as quickly and easily as a Glock, Magazine release is a bit of a pain to get used to and can pinch your fingers easily, too expensive, much like everything else from H&K. In my opinion the Glock is the better buy, and the better gun. Like most polymer pistols, the H&K is a nice weapon, but as long as Glock is around, they'll all be fighting for second place.   Bill T.

 ;)

From a true Kool-Aid connissuer.

You make some great points billt, I always admired the performance, reliability, and what an HK pistol is built to do. The big "but" is the cost, even compared to Sig, customer service, and ease of use.  For the money, I'd get a Sig, Para-Ordnance, M&P, FN, or Glock, get more mags and ammo, and still come out ahead.

but at the same time guys, if you are "a" ,buying what you want "b" ,you have big hands "c" ,want the great reliability HK offers,  ( i'm not rich my no means and coming off unemployment) then to a degree ,price is not always a factor if you are complletley satisfied with your purchase.if you are happy and content with your purchase, then to you ,it was a good deal.....jmho..... ;)thanks for all the input...........

mydogtaz, you are exactly correct. Pistol preference, is like comparing one performance car to another, both are fine cars, both perform as intended, both will find one owner who loves it,.....same with the other.

I hope you get the HK and post a range report (just something we do here at DRTV after a new purchase of anything), how do you like it, how did it shoot, how did it feel to you. Very informal, pics are encouraged.... ::)

This forum has never been a brand specific forum. Everyone loves their firearms for a variety of personal preferences. The HK is a top shelf pistol, no one will ever question that level of quality.

Go get it. Let us know how it "runs' for you, and know you got a great .45.

if you have big hands the Glock 21 should work well. If you really want the HK then you should get it and not look back. It's all about what works for you. I've owned USP's and other HK pistols, good quality and reliability for sure but if I was looking at the prices new to new I could just about get a Glock 21 & 30 for the cost of the USP 45. To me that's a no brainer since I'd rather have just a 21, extra mags and XS sights along with the difference in my pocket. Outside of the fact that you've got the same essential pistol as half the planet when you own a Glock I don't have any negatives for them. Nothing else provides an equal bang for your buck and they have the most aftermarket items and holsters available too. It's just very hard to out Glock a Glock. The thing that makes me laugh is when you go on some sites and they have a "show us your Glock" photo thread. With the exception of a grip reduction or something similar you have like 90 pages of the same picture with different backgrounds.

That is about the toughest argument for the H&K buyer to get around.  Bill T.

But you missed the RED part!

 ;D

I blame the ammo,....the rotation rate of the earth, the barometric pressure and humidity, in relation to the bore temp,.... range lighting,,,... :P oh, nevermind... ;)

Shot placement....
That's the left eye socket instead of the bridge of the nose. Off a little, but extremely effective.
