The vote by 55-41 in favor of the bill, which is known as the Dream Act, effectively kills it for this year, and its fate is uncertain. The measure needed the support of 60 senators to cut off a filibuster and bring it to the floor.

Five Democrats joined Republicans in opposing the bill. They were Democratic Senators Max Baucus of Montana, Kay Hagan of North Carolina, Ben Nelson of Nebraska, Mark Pryor of Arkansas and Jon Tester of Montana.
And three Republicans joined the balance of Democrats in favor of it: Robert Bennett of Utah, Richard Lugar of Indiana, and Lisa Murkowski of Alaska.

Good!
I was at the sis in laws today watching the vote, in Spanish 'cuz that was the only channel that had coverage. Come to think of it, of the 20 channels she gets on basic cable, about six or seven are in Spanish. The rest were shopping channels!

DON'T BACK OFF!!! I am no expert on what goes on in Congress, but I have heard that the DREAM ACT is hidden in the unrelated bill H.R.5281 "Removal Clarification Act of 2010". Apparently the bill has passed the House and Senate, and I under...stand it is currently in reconciliation. It seems that once the final versions are passed, it's LAW!!! Don't you wonder how many congress men and women know that DREAM was added to this bill? Don't you wonder how many are going to vote on it without reading it?
Apparently, the DREAM ACT is incorporated into a lot of bills, and can be seen on this website: http://www.senate.gov/pagelayout/legislative/b_three_sections_with_teasers/active_leg_page.htmSee More

Baucus and Tester are far left? Dude, no offence, but what exactly have you been smoking and where can I get some? I spent some time in your neck of the woods this year and no one was selling anything that would make me buy that. Have you seen their 2A records? These guys are heros. Baucus is the one who stopped the DOD from destroying used brass and allowed them to resume selling casings. If it weren't for that, last year's ammo shortage would look like the good old days. No offence, but step away from the kool-aid and look at voting records, not party labels. I think I speak for every Floridian here when I say I wish we had two Senators as pro-2A.

Harry Reid and John McCain are supposedly "Pro 2A" as well, does not mean either of them is worth a sh!t, any more John Murtha.

Terster and Baucus only have a great 2-A voting record because most homes have guns in the hear in Montana. Look at there full records. Baucus is Obama's front line lap dog.
