Title: Home Range with Air
Post by: Siggy on February 23, 2008, 11:00:17 AM
I acquired a Beeman R7 .177 Air Rifle (http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/showproduct?saleitemid=797298&t=11082005) .  It is quite different then the typical Chinese imports.  It is German made, has a 2 stage, adjustable, Rekord trigger set at about 4 lbs., Beech stock with walnut stain, checkered, adjustable sights and only 18 lbs of cocking effort and so quiet it doesn't bother anyone inside or out.  It weighs just over 6 lbs and is very accurate.  I set up a 10m range in the basement and had a blast with minimal expense and a couple of tins of JWS pellets.  What a fun rifle to shoot, and you can do so without going to the range!  Highly recommended.

I love stuff like that.. and on a day like today when we have 100 pounds of ice, sludge, mud and gunk outside.. it would be just perfect.

Well, went to the range today but waited till 5 so it wasn't so hot.  Had to put some OFF on cause the skeeters are a little tough when you're only wearing shorts and a Tee shirt.  It's 9:15 now and gettin' a little chilly ( only 65).

Have a nice day, all!   ;D  ;D

I have an RWS P5 Magnum that I shoot in the family room.  I have a perfect 10M down the hall to the end wall of the family room, and if I open up the furnace room door I can go prone (just means I need to spend more $$$ for a nice air rifle).  It isn't the cheapest gun to buy, but it shoots great and cheap!

I remember when I was young going to grandpa and grandma's and spending the day shooting.  Shot my first rabbit with grandpa's help when I was five, learned how to smoke fox out of dens with gunny sacks, dad and my uncles would nail cig packs to the trees, and we'd sit on the front steps with .22's of all sorts plinking (probably did more to promote smoking in our family than anything else - quick ... light up another one ... we need another target), and when winter came it was bb's in the basement.  After three generations of shooters and hunters I don't think there was a window on the home place that hadn't been shot out at some time.

It is amazing how many people want to come down to the family room to see at first then play once they hear I shoot down there.
