The Director of Homeland Security going to Afghanistan to help with border security, something she is either unable or unwilling to do in the Homeland is just too much! If I did not see it on Fox News I would have thought it was a Saturday Night Live skit.

As we predicted, Homeland Security and national security state officialdom are in the process of expanding the police state and citizen humiliation grid from airports to hotels and shopping malls.
“The United States is stepping up security at ‘soft targets’ like hotels and shopping malls, as well as trains and ports, as it counters the evolving Al-Qaeda threat, a top official said Sunday,” reports AFP.
“We look at so-called soft targets — the hotels, shopping malls, for example — all of which we have reached out to in the past year and have done a fair amount of training for their own employees,” DHS boss Janet Napolitano said.
Big Sis Napolitano knows the government’s “See Something, Say Something” program to acclimate citizens to a police and surveillance state designed to rival anything established by East Germany’s Stasi is more Big Brotherism...
...It should be obvious where all of this is headed. Following the next staged non-bombing by a clueless patsy, the government will move from malls and hotels into the streets and neighborhoods of America.
How long before you will be subjected to a virtual strip search before you can buy food or other necessities?

I'm not so sure that this requires putting on the tin foil M'lette. go to Israel and trying leaving an unattended shopping bag in a grocery store or on a bus. See what happens. Its not that we require an Israeli level of paranoia, but getting major hotel and mall chains to make their employees aware of what to look for can't hurt, and its not a threat to freedom. Being aware of unattended bags, making it impossible to put large objects in trash cans and the like can go a long way.

PS As far as sending Janet to Afghanistan? Yes please. ;D I think she should do an extended fact finding tour along the Pakistani border.

and scan everyone making it quicker to get about your shopping or traveling ::)

Honestly this administration needs to get a grip on things. She can not even keep Mexican Assasins from crossing our Borders to take out the competition and she has the gall to advise Afganistan on how to secure thier borders against chemicals used to make IED's. I find that impossible based on the fact that China is currently there establishing copper and silver mines which I do believe require the use of Explosives. So I guess she has a problem there not to mention a large variety of explosives can be made with the most basic of house hold items. 2012 can not come soon enough.

Actually, criminals can provide valuable information on how to stop other criminals. Afterall, who knows how crooks think better than other crooks?

There is a reason I got my degree in math.
also this web site for some reason has the text come up very slowly. Often it takes 20-30 seconds for text to show up after I type. Also the scoll on the text window jumps all over the place for me. it often hides what I just typed.

This Thread Has Been Hijacked!!! It was supposed to poke fun at the Secretary of Homeland Security.....not National Policy! Oh well, never mind. I guess they are one in same. As a result of this policy, I am going to support our local KMart Store. They have been trying to go out of business ever since WalMart moved in.
