Title: It's party time in Sacramento
Post by: CJS3 on January 02, 2011, 08:07:07 PM
;D More New Laws for the deserving citizens of California. Thank God for Texas.
Are you sure they don't need a few more? I'll bet the home schoolers love sb1317.

Just for the record, BUTTER is a trans fat. Is that now banned? ::)

FQ13

Margarine contains transfat, not butter.

My two hottest ones on this short list are the school regulations - zealots to shut down home or parochial schools will kill them with documentation requirements; and trans fats - whatever happened to letting us enjoy our foods?  First they try to legislate morality, and now it is health  >:(

Welcome to the nanny state. Its not just self righteous morality hustlers anymore. Now its for our own health, and as always "for the children". ::) >:(  At most, I can see a label required. Beyond that, now that I've been informed, I'll make my own call thank you very much.
FQ13 who wants to kick Arnie's ass. First they ban foies gras (and CA was the US' leading producer, so now lots of family farmers out of work), now this? I'll give him something to "pump up". >:(

Even the labeling is out of hand.  I am smart enough to know about how much of different things I should or shouldn't eat.  The latest push is nutrition and calorie disclosure in restaurant menus.

now out of those that listed there are 32good bills that I do support.

AB119, changes alot of things about car insurance.( its a bunch more then they listed.)

AB12 increases foster coverage to age 21,  right now they cut off funding at 18, which also means if you are fostered thru a service( which 90% are) you are also removed from the home.   I do  think 21 is a bit much, it should be until they finish hs or age 20.( often foster kids are behind several grade levels)  Lets face it, with out a hs ed, you are basicly screwed.

I did actively fight against the "green building bill"  its just a bunch of feel good measure that will mean nothing.  There are some good things. Most of it is pure bull shit.  I would not be shocked if it actually hurts the enviroment over all.
