For those who hadn't heard, Atlanta has shut down because of the snow.
Now don't go making fun of us. We don't get that much and don't need to invest in a lot of snow clearing equipment. Also, we have more ice than snow. It fall, it melts and then freezes. That combined with the very hilly terrain just means we'd rather shut down than help the auto repair business. So, almost every business and school is closed. The kids are having a blast and I'm catching up on various projects INSIDE the house.
So I'm reloading....reloading.....reloading. Gone through all my 9mm and .38spl bullets. Starting on .357 mag this afternoon. Then I'll move to .40S&W. Can't do .44 or .45s cause I'm short on large primers. So far I've only loaded about 1000 rounds. Figure I'll be close to 3000 rounds loaded by the time I go back to work Wednesday.
Here's some pictures. Guess what the first one is.

Don't forget to go out and make a little furry snow angel ;)

Don'tcha just love that global warming! ;D

I'm feeling your pain Alf...people joke about the south and snow but it's not that funny when people who've never driven in the stuff need to get somewhere in the storm.
Stay home, stay safe and wait it out. At least you'll have some water in the lakes this year...
We're looking at another foot or more Tuesday/Wednesday here on top of the seven or eight we got the other day. Just another day in paradise...I'll get to work, one way or another unless they don't bother to open the shop...which is unlikely.
Some guy named Gore is driving the plow here in town...
;D

Then that's probably not sand that he's dumping out the back end.

It's magic pixie fairy dust I think.....same thing that the scientists were smoking when they wrote all those bogus reports...

Les than an inch on the ground here. ;D

:o Wow! Thank God for that global warming. Otherwise we'd all be in trouble. ;)

A couple of icicle pictures to entertain you. Still stuck at home today......running low on necessities. Down below 5,000 primers and only 2 gallons of wine left. Coffee and Jack holding out. Must get out soon.

Red Wine.....Red Wine.
It's medicine to help stave off arterial sclerosis. The doctor said to have a glass a day. He didn't say how big the glass should be though!

And the sat dish was doing okay with the snow, but it glazed over with ice mid-morning and started to block the signal.
PRIORITIES. Don't want to miss all my shooting shows.
it's too icy to climb out on the first story roof to de-ice the dish. However, I taped a hairdryer to a 10 foot pole and stuck it our the second floor bedroom. 10 minutes later.......clean dish, clear signal.

Genius! Pure Genius!
I will salute you with a glass of brandy and a fine cigar later this evening. :)

Well Alf, your little storm bought me a day off today. Just called the shop at 6:00 am and the owner told me to stay home and make snow angels....
This doesn't happen very often up here. We're expecting somewhere north of 20"....it's not snowing at my house at the moment though. We might get a foot or so near the RI border...
-
The streets are still iced over. That's ice folks, not snow. You don't go up/down a 30 degree hills with ice I don't care if you're the grandson of Admiral Perry.
So schools are closed again today and probably tomorrow.
Being stuck in the house isn't all that bad. I just miss my girlfriends.
The Mail Carrier lady
The UPS Driver lady
The Newspaper delivery lady
Oh and the garbage truck lady could manage to just swing by.....my cup run-eth over....so to speak.

Continued luck with your inclement weather Alf.
One thing that always amazes me in these weather issues. Folks with 4WD or AWD can go forward better because of the drive system, they don't realize that they don't really stop better. In fact, the heavier vehicle will most definitely be HARDER to stop at speed in slippery conditions.
Most vehicles I see on the highways that have lost control and ended up in the ditch or in the woods are SUV's and AWD vehicles.
I've never owned one, someday maybe but it's not a priority. I've never been stuck or in the ditch in my life with my cars, be they rear or front wheel drive. I've come close and had some close calls but so far, so good.

Something to think about that I doubt most sheep consider....4WD and AWD are wonderful things. WHEN USED PROPERLY. While they will most certainly get you around in inclimate weather, you must realize that now you have 4 wheels spinning out of control instead of just 2.
Rule of thumb, put it in 4WD, but drive like you didn't.

Bulls eye JC.....I wonder how many yuppies actually read their manuals.
My Ford truck (2WD) is pretty clear on road hazards, extra stopping distances, "bump steer" etc....Hell, even MY wife knows better.
