The media, shows their knowledge. 98% are all talking and writing about those dastardly high capacity clips for those automatic pistols.

It's enough to give me a headache. >:(

Wonder what Haz thinks of this?

As much as it pains me to say it, I think Fox News is one of the worst at this. I wish, if they are going to constantly discuss guns, they would give their reporters some basic firearms training. They seem to know everything there is to know about everything from politics to mining safety, but when it comes to firearms they're as ignorant as a box of rocks! For a conservative network who has shown a steady support of the Second Amendment, you would think they would want to get things right in this regard.   Bill T.

 Doesn't bother me, a revolver and a pistol are not always the same thing. A revolver is always a pistol but not all pistols are revolvers. The misstatements over clips, automatics and assault rifles just shows me who has no idea what they are talking about.

Correct.

However the average bloke or chick would not know any better and get there edumication from the lame stream media.

Actually according to US Army training manual titles "Automatic" is proper nomenclature, at least for the 1911 .

Automatic is common and proper in the name such as "Colt Automatic Pistol," but by definition the guns are either "automatic loading/loader" or "semi-automatic."

Case in point, .45ACP  (Automatic Colt Pistol)

And in view of the fact that less than a month ago I committed THE Cardinal Sin, I shall NOT comment on the clip vs magazine issue.  ;D

To me, Automatic is like when my wife asks me to do something I say "Yes Dear!"
