Please comment only if you have read or seen Sheriff Dupnik's comments considering the tenor of today's politicial landscape.

An opportunistic politician, reminiscent of
Dems all over the country politicians all over the world.[/color]
FIFY. And I vote Hell Yes! :P

One should never let the facts get in the way when exploiting a tragedy for political gain. And EVERY tragedy should be exploited for political gain.
It appears that "Lefty" Dupnik is doing the fast-hustle now because he had been warned about the shooter several weeks ago and failed to take any action. Now, he must blame the entire right wing of the political spectrum to eliminate public scrutinyof his inaction.
Since it is now also being reported that among the shooter's favored reading material was both The Communist Manifesto and Mein Kampf, I think we can reasonably ascertain that he was a cerrtifiable nutter with wildly scrambled political ideologies.
Lastly, I just read that the shooter had a confrontation with the congresswoman in 2007, three years before Palin's map was even the inkling of an idea. His hatred apparently ran deep and long.

Sheriffs are elected officials, a politician in a uniform.

I wonder if any of his "staff" is telling him to just STFU. He making the local LEO's look like clowns, and should have retired years ago.
Perhaps watching an episode of Dragnet, would provide a tutorial to what LE should provide at a press conference or interview.
Just the facts, not your unsubstantiated "opinion"....

I've read the aforementioned vitriol and offer the following for your consideration;
This Sheriff is a bag.....filled with douche.....aka a douche-bag!

The fact he has read both of those books doesn't indicate any such thing, first off, both, along with the Federalist papers are basic to political science, secondly there is not that much actual difference between the theories expressed in the 2. Some thing you would know if you had actually waded through them.
This is where FQ is dead wrong about Ann Coulter, even if you don't agree with her, at least her books are readable.

from what I have seen of him
he seems like a complete arse clown

Reading them both is valuable for the lessons they teach. Having them as favored reading material changes the perspective. Certifiable nutter remains an apt description.
And yes, Tom, they are tough to read through. And, you are right that the two philosophical perspectives get pretty ideologically close when taken to their extremes. And, neither Marx nor Hitler were worth a look (ugly, old, and male). Ann Coulter is hot. And that's where FQ misses out.

True, but that's not where I was going ;D Hitler and Marx wrote long winded political rants that were meant to be shouted from a lectern, like Castro's speeches. They are not meant to be "read", they are meant to pummel your brain into submission.
Ann Coulture writes books that through the use of wit and sarcasm are meant to keep the reader entertained long enough to get her point across.
As to the 2 ideologies the difference is in the focus "Communism" is "international" socialism, focused on a world wide scale, while the Nazi's intent was to apply the socialistic principles only to one nation.

True enough on the face of it, although Hitler's end game was the expansion of his empire.

Agreed, how ever as it was expressed in Mien Kampf, and some of his speeches, his expansionist aims, for very sound economic and political reasons, were aimed Eastward. His initial reasons for the war in western Europe were to prevent France and her allies from jumping on his back while he was dealing with what EVERY ONE then perceived as the primary threat to Europe, The USSR.
At the time Hitler was writing Germany was suffering widespread communist inspired political violence, massive inflation, and unemployment, and crippling war debt, as well as being forced, due to space limitations and population density, to import a large percentage of their food supply. Hitler's stated objectives were to break the back of International socialism and make Germany self sufficient in food and fuel supplies. Westward expansion would not serve this purpose since the Western nations were not in much better shape space wise than Germany was. To the East how ever was a chunk of prime mismanaged farmland that extended from Eastern Germany all the way to the Ural Mountains, ruled by an Internationally hated maniac who was in the process of starving 20 million of his own people to death while executing and imprisoning millions more.
And before any one brings up the Jew's you better do some research. While the German mania for organization may have lead to far more deaths, the Jew was nearly as oppressed in the "enlightened, self righteous" nations of France, England and the US, (where Jew's were only one step up from blacks ). In the East, Russia, Poland, etc. Jew's were never treated any better than at the height of Germany's "final solution", for centuries they had been murdered (in a much less efficient manner ) as scape goats for everything from attempts to assassinate the Tsar to crop failures.
Hitlers goal was NOT the "extermination of the Jew, it was the removal of them from German territory. The reason it was called the "Final Solution" was because it was the last option the Nazi's could think of since they could not get the Western powers to accept them, (in fact, the US SENT BACK several hundred Jews that Germany had allowed to leave, they mostly died in camps later)
and the attempts by the SS to work with the Zionists to smuggle Jew's through the British blockade of Palestine was not effective.
To get back on topic, Michelle Malkin's column today deals with Sheriff Pud.
