So, even though there is still about 3 months till this shin-dig starts, I wanted to throw out feelers as to who has planned to attend the Pittsburgh event. I would love to have the chance to meet other DRTVers and get a chance to put name to face, so to speak. So for those of you planning to attend feel free to post and maybe we can all coordinate an evening to grab a few adult beverages and maybe we can tie down the Outdoor crew for a chance to thank them in person for all the efforts they have made to not only inform us but impart their wisdom and experience as well.

I missed meeting Marshall in Charlotte, what I gathered from MB, is they really "work" at the shows. MB was kind enough to spend a few minutes with me and my son, but he was really working the Outdoor Channel exhibit, podcasts, interviews, photo ops, being a rock star... ::) There are so many folks and VIP's at these shows.
It's a busy time, with a lot going on. However, even Uncle Ted spent a few moments with fans, just strolling the floor, talking to folks. It's really a gun lovers playground, and cannot be seen in just one trip.
I hope to get to the Houston Show in 2013 to celebrate a newly elected POTUS. ;) Perhaps our moderating "celebs" can find some time to get with the DRTV folks, but it's kinda "work" for them.
Hope they chime in and you can all get together.
Take lots of pictures!!!!

We are planning on spending the day at the show on Saturday, and we're staying downtown overnight. So Saturday would be the best for us for adult beverages. It could be interesting (or really loud) Sunday morning at the show. ;D
-
I am planning to be there.
-
We will be there.
Wouldn't dare miss it. My wife went to Chatham College in Pittsburgh. So, she won't make the show, but she will be doing Pittsburgh. Her dad was a college professor at Pitt and several other local colleges in the area. She will have plenty to do while I attend the show and seminars.
-
I might have to link up with one of you who have been to an NRA show who can show me how to maximize such an event.
-
I'm going to try. Since I took my current job the timing is awful...it is 3 weeks prior to a global strategy presentation that we work about 4 months on.
That said, I'm going to do my best. I always work the Air Gun Range as an instructor, so stop by and see me!

Two things:
We might be able to go, but it will have to be a last minute decision. Doen anyone know a website to get all of the info? Tickets, etc? NRA site has pretty pictires, but...
Second, maybe we could arrange a DRTV cap or something so we could recognize each other in the crowd.

With any luck I'll be able to convince President Bogan to send the VP to that venue to meet with those who won the election for us. ;D
-
www.nraam.org for info on the convention. Rooms seem to be going fast. It is being held at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center. Might want to Google that for info also.
FWIW
Richard
PS: Live just over 2 hours away so we might be there for a day or so. Like to hear from at least one of the 3 M's about their plans.

I'd go with Obama caps. That way we'll be easy to spot in the crowd. ;D

But you're the only one who has one. ;)

I am planning on day tripping to the show on Saturday. Judging from the Lexington one 3 years ago it is a very full day, but a heck of alot of fun. Dont do the adult beverges anymore , but if someone wants to arrange a meet up I can swill some coffee!

I'd love to go but it's a 7&1/2 hour trip one way for me, too long for a day trip. Maybe next year.

Only two people on this board would come up with that suggestion, and you are one of them :-\

For those that can, be there on Fri. Get the Free Bag, (you'll need it), the dealer/vendors, give out the best "freebies" on Fri. All the best catalogs, stickers, decals, pins, playing cards, shirts, and "stuff"..... The autograph lines aren't too long, and more face time is available with specific dealers to talk "nitty gritty"...
Give my regards to the Tapco "girl" OMG!!!! :o Yes get your picture with her beautiful pair, ,.....of catalogs,... ::)
Enter the giveaways, it's not as packed as it is on Sat./Sun. It is the Toy's-R-Us, for gun lovers.
Get there early for the speeches, seminars, etc,..
And wear comfortable shoes!!!!! If your a boot lover, they better be damn comfortable. You will cover a lot of ground, more than once.
Enjoy it. It is an amazing collection of the new stuff, the NRA Museum, brings the old stuff, it's all good.
Fondle my SOCOM, The Springfield folks, Colt, S&W, and Sig. folks are fantastic.

The Friday and Saturday night events are something to be sure to attend. We only attended Saturday night at Charlotte and people in line couldn't stop talking about how much they enjoyed Fridays show.
-
This year, we plan on making having a joint appearance at the Outdoor Channel booth. This way, Down Range TV member and the 3Ms can have a little rendezvous.
Time and place will be announced.
-
Making plans to be at the convention on April 29 and 30. Not sure how my back will hold up and/or if my meds will even work but I hope to see some of our DRTV family there. Especially the 3 M's! Please post info as it becomes available.
Thanks,
Richard

If you can sit for a few minutes while we are talking.. I can rub out your back for you.. might help you go another few hours at least. :)
-
That's a date! I can always sit for a back rub!!!!! Wife might be jealous but it'll be worth it.
Richard
PS: Need to know where and when.
-
Marshal'ette, you can always use our booth as your temporary massage area! LOL
I'll be there for the whole shebang! Then it's off to the Mandrell (celebrity) charity sporting clays event in Seven Springs, PA (about 90 min away) on Monday and Tuesday.
If anybody needs recommendations for restaurants or good nightlife, let me know.
-
I need recommendations for several things Mike.. Want me to make you a list? ((You DO trust me.. don't you?)) (http://www.cascity.com/howard/animations/79.gif)
Oh yeah.. you need a shooting partner for the S. Clays? I DO happen to have a brand new Baretta that I am dying to kick some ass with.. ;)
-
Oh yea, I trust you! LOL ;D
I'll talk with Tom and see how many slots we have at the clays shoot and get back to you.
-

Richard
-
Nahhh.. its just people having fun.. Sometimes you're dead on and can hit them.. other times you couldn't hit a bull in the ass with a 20 foot banjo.. but I'm always having fun ..whether I shoot bad or good or just medium.. LOL
-
You guys will have a ball at the Industry Masters. it's a fun event and fantastic for networking.

Aren't you interested in doing the Industry Masters shoot? :'(
-
We've been at the IM for the last 5 or 6 years. Always a great time, even when it rained sideways and was in the 50's in St. Cloud!

Seven Springs Sporting Clay Range is one of the best I have ever seen. My wife and I shot there when we were staying at the lodge for her high school reunion. It is worth the trip and the instructor was very helpful. I recommend it even if you don't do the celebrity shoot.
-
Hope there is a slot that I can squeeze into.. I think it would be a huge amount of fun. :)
-
Yeah, there's nothing like a slot you have to squeeze int....I know, off to the corner.
-
And.. .. stay there for awhile .. and think about what you said.. When and IF you think you can be a good boy.. then you can come out and play with the other kids again.
-
Yeah, there's nothing like a slot you have to squeeze int....I know, off to the corner.
Bah ha ha ha ha...woo-ee...ha ha ha ha.....
I'm glad I only thought that instead of actually typing it...ha ha ha....
What?........
Oh, OK.
Hey, Jay, go ahead and pour me one before you put the cork back in the Bourbon......
-
What bourbon?....that's gone and I'm starting on the rum.
-
What bourbon?....that's gone and I'm starting on the rum.
Rum? Pussers?
I was gonna say that first!! Jay stole the line from me. It's all my fault.
-
Just got a vacation day approved for the Friday of the show, and I sent in an application to volunteer in the afternoon. So it looks like I'll probably be there Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
-
Sweeeet!! I really can't wait to meet you all so you will FINALLY know and see for yourselves that I am very different and nothing like everyone makes me out to be.
I'm serious!! I have a small mousy side of me......well~~no not mousy exactly.. but I AM calm and~~well.. :-\ I guess not exactly calm either.. I mean ..I'm not out of control wild.. well~~actually I AM a little bit wild.. ..but only sometimes.
And I CAN BE quiet.. Sometimes.. kinda... sighhh~~to be honest.. I'm not really very quiet either I guess..
Ok... the truth!
I'm a toucher..hugger.. handler.. not shy.. not quiet...wild crazy out of control ( at times) woman.. But I have fun!! Guaranteed to have fun! ;D ;D
-
M'ette,
You can act however you like just as long as you are able to do something for my back!
