Title: Humbled....
Post by: Michael Bane on January 21, 2011, 01:52:33 AM
Tonight I received a Lifetime Achievement Award in special presentation at OC's Golden Moose Awards. The award was presented to me by Larry Potterfield and was a TOTAL surprise. This comes after my award Tuesday of the Grits Gresham Communicator of the Year award  from NSSF and POMA at the State of the Industry Dinner, with Tom Gresham presenting me the award.

I'm back in the room now, and I feel humbled with maybe a tear or two. Been a long haul.

I wanted to post this tonight because I think of you guys as family.

Thanks for all you've done.

Thank you Michael B, for all you share and provide.

It's truly appreciated.

Awards like these are earned.  Thank you for all of the hard work you have put in keeping us updated, educated, and entertained.  It is great to see you getting the recognition you have earned.

It is more than just the shows - the work you do behind the scenes as well as within the political spectrum has been recognized as well.

Good for you, MB, Congratulations on both awards. Savor them with your Sweetie over a beverage of your choice.

And then get back to work!!!!!! More videos, more commentary, more slide racking!  ;)  ;D

Michael,
I know you work hard at your passion and you work hard for us as well. You stand up and keep at it, and I think I'm safe in speaking for all of us (anyone disagrees, write me a letter) when I say that we appreciate all you do for the firearms community and for us as a group....AND as individuals.
Congratulations- you deserve it.

As others have said, my friend, you worked hard for this.  All I did was consume your product.  That said, congrats on a well-deserved accomplishment.

You're not planning on calling it quits now, are you?

Very well said, Jay.

Michale, you've just gotten awards for your hard work, dedication and devotion to shooting, the shooting sports and the shooting community.  While all of this might give hints to the kind of person you are, I don't think they give awards for being the kind of friend you have been to us here and, not doubt, to the other folks in your life.  So, I guess you have another award coming some time.

Congratulations on these awards, you ARE what it takes to earn them.

Congratulations on a well-deserved honor!

Does this mean you're too important to meet the little people now?  'Cause I'm planning on seeing you in Pittsburgh in a couple months at the NRA show.  I'll even buy you a drink if you'll let me.   ;D

It's all YOUR fault, Bane! You did this and now you have to take your "humbled" self to the corner and have an adult beverage!   :o

Congrats on the big pay-off for all your hard work, NOW GET BACK TO WORK!   ;D ;D ;D

Cool !
But remember, it's like any other award worth having, they did not "give" it to you.
You earned it many times over.

You know,... just my evil mind at work  here.... it seems that the first award didn't really manage to leave MB speechless for very long.  Just have to wonder if this was the back up plan.  The ol' 1-2 punch to get the job done  ;D ;D ;D

That is based on the assumption that the Wal - Mart Peace Prize is worth having.

This ain't like the Nobel Prize.  They don't just hand these out to ANY doofus.  Ya gotta be worthy.  And MB, you are.  You deserve these awards.  Enjoy the accolades for as long as you like, then get back to work.

Congrats from the Rabbit.

Another Bravo Zulu Mr. Bane!

You've managed to live a life that most, if not all of us, would dream for!  Now you're receiving the accolades you deserve from your peer group.  Keep doing what you're doing and don't let up.

Congrats again, MB, on another well deserved (and no doubt hard earned) award.
You deserve to feel good for being recognized for all the work you have put into something (and we can all tell by your words and actions) that you truly believe in.

All of the other stuff that the others said and aside from that, you're just a likable guy. You put a piece of yourself into the things that you work on and it allows us to know you in a somewhat personal way.
