It was not immediately known if he quit or was fired. Olbermann did not address the question,

Think FOX will pick him up? LMAO!

Sounds like he got canned ;D

MSNBC ended its contract with liberal anchor Keith Olbermann, the network said Friday.
Olbermann signed off for the last time on his “Countdown with Keith Olbermann” political affairs program Friday night.
"This is the last edition of 'Countdown'," Olbermann said on the program.
In a statement, the network said:
"MSNBC and Keith Olbermann have ended their contract. The last broadcast of "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" will be this evening. MSNBC thanks Keith for his integral role in MSNBC’s success and we wish him well in his future endeavors."
Neither Olbermann nor MSNBC gave a specific reason for the decision.
His departure came just over two months after MSNBC briefly suspended Olbermann for giving money to three Democratic politicians, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, who was shot and wounded in an assassination attempt on Jan. 8 in Tucson, Ariz.
Olbermann’s program helped define MSNBC as a liberal voice in cable television and a counterpoint to Fox News’ largely conservative bent. MSNBC is now second in cable news ratings behind Fox News and ahead of CNN.

Hmmm.....Hannity and Olberman. Has a nice ring to it, and I can't imagine two guys who deserve each other more. ;D

I would watch his show and I could only think of the vitriol he was spewing each night. He is a very angry, bitter man. What is ironic to me, is I think he possesses a talent for communicating his point of view in such a way that draws one in to consider. It is a shame that he gave no thought to balance. I don't care if he expresses his POV, but have balance, not just allow those with whom he agrees get to deliver the message.

He and O'Reilly were seperated at birth. Have a view point, bring a guest on and then go off on them in a self righteous tirade without letting them get a word in edgewise. They could use cardboard cut outs ala Conan and get the same results from their "interviews". I Don't understand why people like watching this stuff. Its why I like Maddow. At least she lets the guest talk and make a case. Its why I like Rush's show a lot better when Sowell is guest hosting. As far as Olberman? Good riddance. Hopefully Shultz, O'Reilly and Hannity will follow him.

You know I think Sarah could take olberman two out of three falls.
About Hannity and olberman deserving each other, Allan Colmbs was ALOT more intelligent than olberman,at least made it worth watching. You do have a point though, Hannity does coming accross a little whiny sometimes

O'Reilly has gotten better. Really. His ratings are also 10X higher than any other talking head. That self admitted socialist McDonnel, Sgt. Schultz, and our favorite "tingly" guy Chris Matthews are still there.
Where's the "civility"?
Pluuuuueeeeaaaazzzzzzzeeeeeee............ ::)
Libs cannot defend their agenda when confronted with the truth. They are inherently angry, disgruntled folks. Catch Maddow the other night?
I caught the clip, she wouldn't STFU interviewing a Rep. Congressman about gun control.
Hey,......BUT OLBE'S GONE.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He was a true schmuck.

He should of stayed on ESPN , he and that maddow person along with bill maher make me sick.
-
Bill Maher is such a smug A-hole, even if he were on our side I would want to slap him.
-
Just envision a Maher, Maddow offspring??? :o
Where the F*** do they get these people????

+100
He's so condescending that I don't even know how he has 'fans'(?).

Hi;
Sooner or later they all will screw up to some extent. Both sides take a rabid approach to thier views. I remember a guy back in the 80's who had a prime time conservative show on and had very high ratings. In the end he tried to pull a scam about being attacked in a restroom by Lib's and was later proven that he "buzzed" his own hair and lied about it all.
Last year I saw him on one of those "kick the cig habit" commercials.
Does anyone remember his name by chance ? On top of the world one day and then "what was his name".

Olbe is the kind of guy who would call a "five alarm" if he saw his Republican neighbor lighting his barbecue. EVERYTHING even potentially on the right had to be yelled at, mocked, or derided. I tried to watch him a few times and couldn't do it. It required too much suspension of common sense. I hope he gets an infected blister on his foot.
I am no fan of Allen Combes, either, but at least he is somewhat thoughtful. I know: it's tough to defend the leftist position with reason and common sense. But shouting and screaming does not enhance the argument.
