Cassic arms website has been down for awhile while they reorganized. They are backup today with a new manager and are having clearance prices on a lot of their existing stock. There are some very sweet deals on ammo, mags, CZs, AKs, Tokarevs etc. I didn't browse their C@R page, but I'd wander over there and take a look.

Thought I'd bump this. They finally put up the C@R stuff. Wow! Moisins for $69, CZ for $169, FALs for $600, Mausers and Swiss at $200, Enfields at $200. It sucks to be poor. ;)

One of those Tok's, one like a 7 foot tall merchant marine DRTV member has,.....is a deal 1260 rds. of old milsurp ammo, $70.
Mags. $8.
A grand-dad to the Glock as far as reliability, durability, and all metal to boot?
Well Worth the $200.

Here's my teenage son with the infamous Tok.... He liked it.... ::) Go figure.

TW,
SOG has those TOKs for 189....Just saying. ;)

What tempts me are the Saiga .308s at $300 and the .556 at $275. If they'd had this deal when I bought my AR I'd probably have bought one of the .308s and a dozen or so ten round mags instead and still come out ahead. Oh well. I'd like one, but I can;t justify it. :-\

Norinco used to import a Tok. called the Model 213, same gun but 9mm Luger. The 7.62X25 ammo was not available back then, still a better SD pistol because of the wider variety of ammo, where as the 7.62 is only available in FMJ.
On the other hand, the only caliber less expensive than the surplus 7.62X25 is .22LR.
-
Didn't they just have a recall on Romanian Toks because of those messed-up manual safeties? I thought I saw that somewhere, not dissing the Tok, they work well in original condition.
-
My only experience is with the Norinco, a couple of them had safety's that were rough as hell, almost unworkable, a little ScotchBrite, and a lot of working them on and off smoothed them out though.
A few years ago Sarco had a small batch from Serbia that had 3 or 4 inch barrel's, would be an excellent pocket pistol.

there are only 2 issue with the tok as a carry piece.
1 lack of expanding ammo( ball is a little bit more then decent quality 22s)
2 they are LOUD.

That's why I liked the Chinese type 213, back then the 9mm wasn't that good, but today there's all sorts of good loads.

Many a soldier DIED on the battlefield from non-expanding ammo.
The Tok, I shot, and informal surplus helmet tests, proved that the 7.62x25 will make very effective holes in the target.

Faster than many modern calibers, and a punch to go with it.

Is that what you choose to carry ?
It will punch through a helmet ? So what ? Are you going to be taking head shots at troops, or trying to stop a dog or mugger ?
7.62 X 25 seems like a decent little round if you have no options.
But we do.

No, I don't own one. Shot the crap out of deepwater's. However, in response to TAB, whether it has expanding ammo or not, some rounds are still effective.
Not many,... however, if all I could carry was non-expanding ammo, it would be .45ball. The military still sees the 9mm ball as "good enough".
But for a glove box pistol, tool box pistol, a back up in a BOB, One that can take a ding or a scratch, be exposed to "less" than ideal maint. conditions, and be cost effective, it is an option. Not for my personal carry, but to have one around, with a pile of ammo and mags, isn't a bad thing. I'll get one of my own just the same.
Especially when you see "some certain" types of folks at gun shows buying body armor these days.

Very true. Don't sell Ball ammo too short. The entire mess in Tuscon was created as a direct result of it. Yeah, if he had used Cor-Bon or Winchester Supreme the body count would have no doubt been higher, and Giffords would have been dead before she hit the ground. But copper and solid lead ripping through flesh and bone has stopped many a fight, and ruined many a day. Bill T.

There are places that sell TOK hp rounds.

Practice with the cheap fmj and carry the 'good' stuff.
