MBC Associate Instructor Christopher Doner will be presenting a seminar on the fundamental skills of the Martial Blade Concepts system on Saturday, Feb 5th. Chris is a lifelong martial artist with an extensive background and has been a dedicated student of MBC for almost 10 years. He has earned a Certificate of Proficiency in the system and Associate Instructor certification and does an outstanding job of faithfully presenting MBC to his students. I strongly urge anyone interested in learning more about MBC's methods to attend his seminar. Here are the details:
Introduction to Martial Blade Concepts
This course will provide step-by-step instruction in the fundamental skills of using a knife as a defensive weapon, including knife carry, high-speed deployment, recognition and identification of common street attacks, defensive responses, anatomical targeting and the realities of knife stopping power.
Saturday February 5th, 9am - 1pm
Tuition: $75.00
TOPICS OF INSTRUCTION
Carry and high-speed deployment of folding knives
Grips
Basic footwork
Angles of attack
Zones of defense
Anatomical targeting
Defensive responses - MBC 'go to' moves designed to stop an attacker quickly and decisively
If time and student aptitude permit, flow drills will be introduced.
*A folding training knife is highly recommended but not absolutely necessary. I will have some on hand to loan out to participants.
*Payment in full is required to hold a spot for this seminar. Payment must be received by January 28, 2011
*Space is limited
For more information please contact Christopher Doner via email at: kaze-group@cox.net.

Mike,
When and if you find yourself or one of your associates in the New England area, you may find an audience for your training. I will keep an eye out for any further updates. I've been without a carry weapon other than my knife since I moved back to CT. With my limited mobility, this training could prove most helpful.
Thanks in advance....
Tim

The seminar went very well! I have been receiving all kinds of good feedback from those who attended. The guys had a blast and more than a few inquired about future seminars, so they definately want more! We had about 14 people go through and most picked up the skill sets quickly.
I was fortunate to have three experienced MBC players on hand to help out if someone found a sticking point (pun intended) and needed some assistance. Many thanks go out to Thane, JC and Marcus!
Also, thanks to Mike Rigg of Stay Safe Media who provided ten copies of Martial Blade Concepts - The Enhanced Version (DVD) which sold out immediately after the seminar.
Here are some of the comments from those who attended:
"Training was kickass!" - DJ U.
"Had a kick butt time!!! Learned much, especially about how little I know. Can't wait for the next one!" -Evan S.
"We had a blast and learned a lot. We'll be back for sure!" -Eric S.
