Yeah but it's a lot more expensive than a Rossi Ranch Hand AND it does NOT have a side loading gate!

Came back after doing some research to say the same thing!

Only think on the Rossi that I am not sure on is the large loop lever.  Henry's medium looks more to my liking, but not for twice the money.

BAC,  Hope you were kiddin cause I didn't mean to "jump".

M58, replacing a lever ain't that hard or expensive.  I don't like the Rossi loop either (would rather have a regular one) but if I had the $ I'd buy it in a NY minute and just replace the lever.

Picked up my Mare's leg in 22lr, very interesting and affordable, compared to the 44mag version, which I originally saw. Only Complaint is how it loads and it's capacity. 10rds sounds good, I just get tired taking the plug out of the mag tubes so often. This marks my first lever action ANYTHING. maybe that's it.

That's the down side to Henry Vs a Winchester design. Henry sticks with the original tube loading, it wasn't until Winchester came along that they came up with the gate for loading through the receiver. Winchester and Colt both used similar systems.

Skip that crap and get a Spencer.

Note the Caliber choices !

Honest question. Can you hit anything with it? They always looked cool, and if you get one in something like 45-70 or .44 mag you've got a lot thump in a small package. But just like a pistol grip 12 gauge pump, I wonder if you can keep it anywhere near on target when firing more than one round. A .22 should be the ideal test case, as that should be able to provide accurate rapid fire if any of them will. Just curious.

They've got some nice looking repro stuff, I just wish they'd at least list a MSRP. All the other repro Sharps rifles I've seen are well over 1k some as much as 3k. That's why I still don't own one. I'd love to have one but not for the cost of 2 or 3 decent battle rifles.

The cimarron, Pedersoli "Quigley" Sharps I drool over is and has remained around $2300 +/-

price list here.

although I would stick with 45-70, as 45-110, or 45-120 rds. are worse than .338 Lapua. :'(

You know, someone on this board might have warned you about that very issue before you bought the damn thing, but did you listen......? ;D Good news though! Since don't ask, don't tell has been repealed, you might be able to sweet talk a Coastie into lifting a case from one of their interdiction sniper teams for you. ;D ;D ;D ;D

That was exactly why I choose the 22lr first. Thought if I liked the design I would go back and get a different caliber. The thing is amazing. Shoots just as well as my Ruger Charger. Now I don't know if the same thing can be said of the other sizes
