Title: A little nostalgia
Post by: howlrwy on March 03, 2008, 05:17:56 PM
For the "mature" audience here.  This really takes me back and it's a nice break...

Finally someone who remembers .The Adventures Of SKKKKKKKKKKKY KING!!!!! How about this one. Remember the time when you made a purchase and they counted your change back to you, instead of handing it back to you in pile. Christ  :o Now I know I'm getting old. Ah!  getting old is OK I guess as long as your still getting NEW firearms. Long Live the NRA.

That's because back then they COULD count the change back to you.

Talking about counting change, just the other day I was talking with my wife about how when the kids were little I made them tell me ahead of time how much change they should get back.  Money was interesting to them so they learned well and quickly.  Now if you go to a store or especially fast food and the computer is down they can't do anything because they don't know how much change to give if the machine won't tell them.  It always confuses them if after they put in the amount you tendered you THEN had them a couple of pennies to make it even.  So often they hand me the change along with the pennies I gave them because they're completely confused.

That also means if they speak English...  OK, I won't even go there.  ;-)

Change? Money? All I use is a credit card.
Great post, thank you!  After watching 10 minutes of Jerry Springer today (see my post "maybe I've been wrong") I've felt like I needed a shower.  It was good to look back to a simpler time.  Also good to see my '57 Ford convertible again.  And yes, I did have a coon skin hat, I wonder if I could get another one?
Thanks again,
Art

I had a coon skin cap too. Bought one for my nephew about 10 years ago in Fort Bridger, WY, at the trading post there.  He loved it.  I also had a complete Hopalong Cassidy outfit complete with the belt, twin holsters and cap guns.  Funny, I grew up playing with cap guns and yet I've never gone out and started shooting people.  ;-)

By the way, I still shudder to think you watched Jerry Springer...
