An herbal store clerk in Mattapan shot and wounded an alleged robber who had threatened him with a hammer last night.

Police said Raymond Sims, 47, is in serious condition at Boston Medical Center and is expected to survive after the shooting at Essential Body Herbs at 1282 Blue Hill Ave.

Sims is expected to be charged as an armed career criminal in connection with the attempted robbery, Boston police spokeswoman Elaine Driscoll said. She said Sims is known to police.

The shooting occurred shortly after 7 p.m. last night. Suffolk District Daniel F. Conley's office is probing the incident to determine the circumstances surround the shooting and whether it was justified.

Police said the clerk did have a license to carry the firearm. He was not injured.

Mattapan is a shithole!

Even the liberals are wise to carry a gun there.

If Boston were a liberals backside, Mattapan and Dorchester are the anus and sphincter of that area...with a couple of dangling hemorrhoids!

Think of it as the Boston version of "8 mile"

But the people of Detroit are just the poor, downtrodden and broken masses of a once vibrant, hardworking part of our country!

People from Boston are just assholes!

Assholes from Boston are Irish and Italian. Roxbury, Matapan, Dorchester,  weren't settled from those 2 countries, Even the Irish don't breed THAT fast.

To hell with PC, Those 3 towns, and Jamaica Plain used to be divided between Irish, Italian, and Jews, working class or better, where people didn't bother locking they houses. then in the 50's and 60's they made them start letting blacks move in until they drove out any decent citizens. Now they are all black shitholes of welfare, drugs and crime where even the cops only travel in groups.
And do gooder BS like bussing spread that disease through the whole city.

8 Mile's nothing!  Anything below 6 Mile is where you really need to be careful.

True....but, my kinfolk in Southy ain't much better off.

There really isn't a neighborhood in the metro area I'd set foot in without good reason and my little friend cocked and locked!

Licensed or not!

You can blame that on bussing Tim. Southy used to be all Irish, The Bulger brothers never locked their doors. Crime was boosting stuff off the backs of trucks, and Whitey's drug money was coming from other parts of the city.
Then in '72 all the liberal legislators who didn't have to live there forced through bussing and it has been going to shit ever since.

Same thing was happening all over the country in '72.  Some fared better than others I guess but poor is poor.  Dorchester, Jamaica Plain, Matapan, Roxbury, Southy, Quincy are dumps for all the same reasons.  Poverty, ignorance and subservience to the dickheads they keep electing.  They pretty much deserve what they get for their efforts.

Boston blows, nuff said.
