I know MB is a fan, but Hbo is starting a new series 04/17. Game of thrones, based of George R. R. Martins book, I hope they do a good job as it is a great fantasy book, with lots of murder and mayhem, betrayal etc... all swords, bows and pikes, with huge wolf/dogs.

Murder, mayhem, betrayal, medievl weaponry and huge wolf dogs? Throw in hot chicks in chain mail bikinis and you have a winner! Are you sure this isn't coming to FX? ;D

Be interesting to see how they work it...the books arevhellishly complex, thousands of characters with weirdv( and sometimes similar) names...Byzantine plots and the occasional dwarf. I'd of course rather seen the Robert Jordan Wheel of Time series...not nearly as elegantly written, but I'm committed...LOL! Would love to see a beautiful treatment of FEVRE DREAM...

I got fed up with "The wheel of Time" Same thing over and over, Rand is all powerful, Rand gets the super enhancement, Bad guys blindside Rand. First couple books kept me interested, by the time "Crown of Daggers" came out I had had more than enough .

Yeah, some of them took a thousand pages to go nowhere. Still I read a bunch and liked them. Kind of sad as I bought the first one in an airport, didn't realizre I was making a 15 year commitment. ;D. Did the damn thing ever get finished?

It did get finished, but not by Jordan.
Robert Jordon died before the finale.
The series was finished by Brandon Sanderson. The planed final book, A Memory of Light was expanded by Sanderson using Jordan's notes to 3 volumes, The Gathering Storm, Towers of Midnight and A Memory of Light.
The first two have been published and the last one is due to be published in early 2012.
There is a prequel to the series, New Spring that was published in 2004 and is set 20 years before the beginning of the original series.
If you want a similar series, check out the Sword of Truth series by Terry Goodkind. The first book is The Wizard's First Rule

MB, Fevre Dream is a good idea, and timely with all the Vampire interest these days. Maybe it so obscure as to be off the radar at this point. Also wonder if Anne Rice read it before she starting writing.

Not bad at all for a 1st episode, great photography, real dwarves, naked ladies, giving good favors, lets see what happens next, also watched Bruce Campbelll in the next
burn notice entry, fun stuff as Bruce Usually is. Good night for TV. Several faux paux with weapons and geear, but good none the less.
