I've always considered myself a normal kind of guy, politically conservative, socially kind of liberal, maybe a little (a lot) to the side of mainstream. Working in our basement shop today, late morning I decided to take a break from a tedious cabinet project and watch fifteen minutes of television. Turned on the TV and Jerry Springer was on. I've never seen the show before, but have seen the promos and heard a little about it. Starts out with some young guy standing there without his shirt on, why he didn't have his shirt on, I haven't a clue. Story is he's living with his girl friend while still married to his wife, telling them both he loves them. Okay, nothing new here. He's also dating his cousin, who can't figure out if she's straight or lesbian. Okay, from what I'd heard that's what the show is all about. Then there's the guy whose missing the lower part of his body, from the waist down, walking on his hands, wandering around the set, and the women in the audience who are lifting their blouses, exposing themselves to the camera (blurred out) and audience. Then people from the audience start coming up on stage dancing, and there's the guy wearing only his underwear...
It's like a scene out of a bad “end of the world” sci-fi movie.
For years now, I've gone with the theory “if you can't solve it with five, what makes you think you can solve it with fifteen”, and for the “The end of the world as we know it” people, I just couldn't see it.
Maybe I've been wrong, maybe I need a bigger gun.

Yeah, right, After they did the Springer show maybe they could do an encore at the state of the union address
My Dad used to say that you could get some of these a-holes to pay to watch someone throw rocks at bottles.

Jerry Springer AND his program.... :P
The lowest level of life form with the lowest class of human beings that TV has to offer.
I think that at some time , everyone has flipped it on and I think sat there dumbfounded for a minute or 2 wondering if there really IS this caliber of idiots living and breathing around us. :o
I can not imagine even being able to watch it for more than 5 minutes. (http://www.rightnation.us/forums/style_emoticons/default/hairpull.gif)

I think you guys are talking about some of my family members. Let me call em and find out ::)
I'm back..It was just a distant cousin that married his little sister. His mother got jealous and shot them both. Hell, there goes the family name. :-[

In your case I'd rather be an "outlaw" than an "In Law". ;)

Unique, yeah the world is changing for better in some and for worse in others. I would certainly recommend these days however, that you have fiften rounds to solve it.. Heck.. or how about thirty? lol.. Seriously though, when the "thugs and bad guys" start walking down the street and stop by your house, wouldn't you rather have the fifteen or more???... The way things are these days? The cops, the bad guys, and the governement all have fifteen or more, you might as well too... ::)

must be ;D

The sad part is that most of them just keep on breeding.

In my youth I read a LOT of science fiction. Some of the stories would detail what was going for entertainment at the time the stories were set in. It was a way to show just how "sick" the future societies were going to be.
I noticed a few years ago that the stuff that is actually on now is worse than anything those stories portrayed.
I weep for the future. :'(
