Like a meal with too much garlic - It just keeps coming back and coming back >:(
As I recall this is a patent holder of a process that keeps pushing this, and he is going to do so until he makes his millions. If he gets this done the next thing will be registration, because the micro stamp will be worthless without a data base of guns to compare to >:(

All firearms in Massachusetts ARE registered and stored at the Firearms Bureau except for "primitive" weapons. I even had to let them know I moved out of the state. I give this about a 90% chance of passing unless the MA Gun Owners Action League gets real busy.
Remember, the voting population around Boston are dipshits! The Legislature is stacked with liberals hell bent on control!

WHY/HOW do
gun any manufacturers stay in MA or CA???

That is more draconian than in australia, far out!
-
They need to take a lesson from Ronnie Barrett on how to treat California.
Add NJ, MA, NY, and IL to the list and there might be a small chance for a change in attitude.
-
PA would welcome Smith & Wesson and any other firearms manufacturers that would like to move.

Sledge, he meant the registration stayed at the firearms bureau not the guns.

Yea, I have all my guns at home in CT and they don't care as long as they're kept in the house.
Still working on my CC permit, it's just timing though. It's a much bigger pain in the butt than MA was, by far!
If this legislation passes, I told my wife that there is NO WAY IN HELL we would live there again!

Georgia, South Carolina and Alabama would be more than happy if any of them wanted to relocate down here.
OH WAIT, some already have.

Florida is open for business!

Actually what needs to happen is any and all firearm / ammo mfg needs to immediately move from the state and ALL firearm and ammo sales be stopped. ESPECIALLY to LEO (who I bet are 'exempt').

Yes, LEO are exempt. I was looking a used Kimber last year. My FFL who is also a MA SP officer, said I couldn't buy it, BUT he would buy it and sell it too me on a private sale! All for the low, low price of way more than the thing was worth.
I passed....

I'll admit it, I was born in Mass but only lived there for 1.5 yrs and don't remember them. Parents moved to Ct. and I left there right after highschool, and headed west. Life is much better out west - 36 plus yrs worth ;D. I go back to visit relatives about once every 5 yrs and can't wait to leave after 2 - 3 days (no offense)

None taken. I'm from Michigan originally. Moved here for work 29 years ago and probably stuck in the east. CT is OK, not great but better than MA or RI. I'll retire to NH most likely.

Sounds like a felony to me, at least on his part. You were wise to say no regardless of price.

To the best of my knowledge, it's perfectly legal. For example, I can buy a boatload of handguns while a resident of CT. If I were to move back to MA, I simply register them with the Bureau and I'm good. Those guns can then be sold privately to anyone with a valid license in the state. It's a hole in a system that was never right to begin with.

+100 !
This is exactly what Ronnie Barrett did to California when they decided to ban the .50 BMG cartridge. He even went so far as to not send back any .50 Caliber rifles in his shop that were sent there by California law enforcement agencies. He stated, "If they want them, they can come here and get them!".
Shut off any and all firearm and ammunition sales to ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT and just watch how fast all of this silly, stupid crap stops. Let them all try to purchase foreign. Good luck. They'll be throwing rocks at criminals. I'm not out to get law enforcement, but they deserve the exact same as the people they are "sworn to serve and protect". I'm sick and tired of these politicians and law enforcement people setting themselves up as some kind of Godlike creatures exempt from everything they wish to ram down the peoples throat, as if they know better. Bill T.

If this bill passes, the streets of Massachusetts will be SO SAFE, there will be no need for LEO's to carry firearms. It'll be as safe as Great Britain!
All they'll need is a pretty red rose to hand to the criminal trying to kill them. A happy place it will be!
All together now....
Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya
Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya
Kumbaya my Lord, kumbaya
Oh Lord, kumbaya

The concern is with a LEO abusing his position for profit and you getting caught up as collateral damage. I see the charges as public corruption, malfeasance and conspiracy, that's leaving aside firearms infractions. I've been working for lawyers long enough here in the sunshine state to know that when a DA goes after a public corruption case (of which there are many down here) they have about as much power a when they go after the mob. Its kind of scary how easy it is to stick someone with a conspiracy charge.A good rule of thumb is this this. If a LEO friend offers to do a somewhat shady favor for you, figure he's done it for someone else and might be on someone's radar screen. If that is the case, you could quickly find yourself neck deep in his mess. My advice is just walk away, YMMV.

Doesn't matter anymore, I moved out of the Peoples Republic. THOSE corrupt state police, politicians and justices are in my rear view mirror. I get to deal with all new ones here in CT...
-
" I get to deal with all new ones here in CT..." What not from the state that elected an official that stated (and lied) about his tour in Nam? I find that hard to believe ::)

FQ, you need to travel more. In Mass those are not crimes. They are more like a job description.

We call the LEO resume "buzzwords"!
