Been a good week.
Sold the S&W 586 and the S&W 43 Airweight I had on GunBroker.
Bought a S&W 686 with 6" barrel from a dealer in CA.
BUT THIS, THIS IS WHAT I WANT..... THIS IS WHAT I LUST AFTER
WARNING: Escort little children, ladies and weak kneed greenhorns from the room. The folllowing picture may be too much for those with heart condition.

It's a S&W 625-7 6.5" ported barrel, full length under-lug in 45 Long Colt.
I don't know how rare these are in this configuration but, it's the first one I've seen.
I want, I want, I want
(I just checked and I did not win the MegaMillions which is up to $175 MILLION next Tuesday.)
If you want to see all the pictures or give it to me as a birthday present:

What's wrong with you people. The auction has ended and NOBODY bid on this! Only $849.
Oh Wait, wait. That means it's still available. Whew. Heart slow down some. Maybe I'll write the seller a note offering something a little more down to earth.
Of course now that I've bought the 686 this month, I've renewed my membership in the S&W/Month club until the end of April.
I got time. Let's see....now.... I need reloading dies, bullets and brass. Yeah, brass, you just don't find many 45LCs laying around the range.

I wasn't going to post this, but since no one else commented I don't want Alf to think we're ignoring him.
Long barreled pistols just don't do it for me. Now, if it had a 4inch barrel.............

very cool

Oh Man. What was I thinking. Duh. (Oh course, I don't think of a pistol having a long barrel until it goes over 8.)
Here's a 4" model. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=219837313 (http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=219837313)
I'm off to work, but later I'll post pictures. Somewhere was one of the rarer 3" model 625 in 45LC. Evidently only a couple hundred made.
I'm in my "size matters" period of life.

Sat down one time with a 7 5/8 Blackhawk stuck in my belt, thought I gave myself a vasectomy. Never had a long barrel for carry since ;D

Okay here it is a 625 with 3" barrel in 45 LC (not ACP) 6 round cylinder, not 5.

Pretty cool revolver. How is the recoil on that bad boy alfsuave?

Well, Ping, this is the gun (the 6.5" one) that I'm lusting after I don't actually have it...........yet. I've shot a 45LC in single action and the recoil was bothersome. However, it was a lot lighter than this S&W and wasn't ported.
Hoping to have the fundd by the end of April, then I'll let you know. Trust me. I'll post pictures and targets and numerous column inches of dribble on how great is and how great I can shoot it. ;D
Now the 3" one isn't something for a day of plinking. It would be seriously not fun....but then it is a just that, a serious self-defense piece! I don't plan on obtaining one of them.

Agreed. I always though my 5.5" Redhawk was a bit too long. The relatively new 4" in .45 Colt is on my acquisitions list.

Guys those are some nice wheel guns.
