For the past couple of months I have been helping Venturing Scouts/Boy Scouts at the range. Last night we were firing a variety of pistols in 9mm but one guy brought his Kimber Custom .45 ACP. He was going to let me shoot a few rounds through it. Been wanting to get one for years but stick with my Glocks.
After the kids had finished firing he passed it to me and I put one round in it. Aimed at the bullseye and squeezed it off. Bullseye. Must say that is one fine firearm. I only fired the one shot. One was enough to let me know that I need to save some money to be able to purchase a Kimber or a 1911 style pistol. ;D

I also got to try a custom Kimber 1911, shot two full mags through it and was very impressed with it. On that same day I got to shoot a Wilson Combat 1911 and WOW what a gun!! The Wilson felt better in my hand but would take either one... ;D
Save your pennies!

I have a Ultra CDP II that has benn very trust worthy. I shoot IDPA with it and so far it's been a tack driver.

You know what they say, "once you go 1911 you never go back." Or something like that.

I have a Kimber Stainless Compact that will shoot 7 rnds touching if I do my part. Love the gun. It had a feeding problem and had to go back, they polished up the insides and refit the barrel and slide. When I got it back I was afraid it wouldn't be as accurate but it stil shoots great. It's my daily carry now.

Sniping isn't the only form of "One shot Kill" ;D

I bought this Kimber Stainless II a few months back and it's been a real good performer. Never have had a FTF or FTE yet with it. It is a bit tight, and I keep it dripping with lube at the range, but it's starting to loosen up. I've got about 400 rounds of Ball through it, all factory. I'm thinking about changing the grips to something a little more fancy. I saw a set of Houge Pau Ferro wood grips at Cabela's last week and almost bought them, but I remember how much of a pain grip screws can be on 1911's with those stupid inserts they have in the frame, so I passed. Good gun all the way around. Bill T.

I hope you took the tags off before going to the range. Unless you were going for the "tags on the hat" hood look. ;)

My spidey senses told me that was going to pop up.

Minnie Pearl reminds me of my mother. Bill T.

Minnie Pearl reminds me of my deceased grandmother. Both were great people.

I've had a basic Kimber Custom II for several years and it's one the most accurate pistols I have, well worth the money. Unless things have changed since I purchased mine you shouldn't be disappointed.
